He has never lived up to the billing. This season the Orioles are just 12-19 in games he has taken the hill. What is worse is that three of the wins were by a single run, leaving the Orioles 9-22 if facing a -1.5 runline in his 31 starts. Jeremy Bonderman has had an "Oreo" cookie type season. His middle 15 starts were awful, and the Tigers were 6-9 in the 15 games. The beginning and finish show 14 starts and an 11-3 mark with the Tigers winning five of his last six starts. The Tigers have been getting it done in expected low-scoring games as they are 12-4 in their last 16 with a posted total from 7-8.5. Behind Bonderman, they stand at 4-0 in that same situation. Guthrie further proves that he is not a top-of-the-rotation pitcher as the O's are 8-20 when he starts after a loss. The Tigers are 9-3 in the last 12 vs. the O's, so I'll take Detroit here on the runline.Game: Colorado at St. Louis (8:15 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 units on St. Louis -160 (moneyline) (risk 2 to win 1.3) The Rockies are still alive, technically. But for all practical purposes, they long ago played themselves out of it. The Rockies have played terrible baseball on the road when it mattered, and come into this one at 31-46 on the road for the season. Overall they are averaging just 3.8 runs per game on the road this season, batting just .230. They have played their worst baseball down the stretch at 1-9 over their last 10. The Cardinals seldom lose with Carpenter on the mound at home where they are 49-14 in their last 63 games. St. Louis has played their best baseball at home vs. teams with a winning record at 20-6 in their last 26 games. Jason Hammel is just 3-6 on the road this season with a 5.35 ERA and won't get it done here. St. Louis gets the call. ![]() MLB Baseball Picks Resources:
