Today's MLB Baseball Picks:
Game: Minnesota at Detroit (7:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Minnesota +120 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 3.6)
The Detroit Tigers have done everything they can to make a race out of the AL Central. They had virtually put away a few weeks ago, but going 8-11 down the stretch has left the door open for a suddenly hot Twins team. The Twins have gone 11-2 in their last 13 games. The Twins have not been know for being a good road team, but that has changed dramatically of late especially against a right-hand pitcher where they are 10-1 in their last 11. Overall, the Twins’ best spot has been facing a right hand pitcher as they have posted a 20-7 mark in their last 27. The Tigers are beginning to feel the pressure and have a rookie pitcher on the mound to open this crucial series. The Tigers have not fared well in this spot. They are now 6-13 returning home from a seven-game or longer road trip, and have dropped the ball in series openers losing five of their last six. The Twins got a Tiger by the tail, and add to the pressure. I’m going with Minnesota here.
Game: Minnesota at Detroit (7:10 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Minnesota +1.5 runs -170 (runline) (risk 3 to win 1.8)
The Twins are putting the pressure on the Tigers, taking two of three in Minnesota, running their current streak to 11-2 in their last 13, while the Tigers falter. The Twins have caught fire on the road and vs. right-hand pitching in particular. They are 10-1 in their last 11 on the road against righties, and the only loss was to AL ERA leader Zack Greinke. They are averaging 6.7 runs a game in the 10 wins and winning by 3.5 runs per game. The Tigers are just 5-14 in their last 19 against a would-be -1.5 runline. The Twins are on a roll and hot in this spot, so I'll grab them on the runline.
