Game: Tampa Bay at Boston (7:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 5 stars on Boston -191 (risk 500 to win 262)
We've banked numerous times late this season fading the hapless D-Rays on the road. They are the absolute worst in the Majors away from home at 19-56 including 2-28 since the All-Star break. They start Jason Hammel tonight (0-4 with 7.01 ERA) vs. Curt Schilling (8-1 at home with 3.21 ERA). Boston is 23-4 vs. Tampa Bay in games played at Fenway over the past three seasons including 6-1 this year! They are 35-6 at home the past two seasons vs. weak teams that have been outscored by opponents by 0.5+ runs per game and over the past three years they are 62-14 as a big home favorite. Layup here on the Red Sawx.
Game: New York Mets at Atlanta (7:35 PM Eastern) Pick: 2 stars on Atlanta -151 (risk 200 to win 132)
We were on Washington yesterday, fading the favored Mets, in large part due to the fact that the Mets are playing like they just don't care. Tonight we'll fade them again. New York has dropped eight of eleven now and tonight they face Atlanta's John Smoltz. Smoltz is 9-5 at home with a 3.28 ERA. Going for New York is Oliver Perez who has been as bad as it gets. He's 3-12 on the season with a 6.53 ERA. On the road, he's 0-6 with a 10.13 ERA! Just like last night, this game means more to New York's opponent than it does to the Mets who have clinched their playoff position. Since clinching, the Mets are averaging 3.7 runs per game. The Braves want this one as they Mets have embarrassed them the past two meetings. New York won a doubleheader on September 6th, 4-1 and 8-0. Over the past decade, the Braves are 18-3 revenging a road blowout loss of 8+ runs. Tonight they get their revenge.

| How
much to bet? I recommend 1% of your bankroll for every
star. A one-star pick = 1% of bankroll. A five-star pick
= 5% of bankroll. It is strongly recommended that
you never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on any given
game! Remember, there are no such thing as locks.
Never bet over your head and you'll live to see another
day. Approach your bets as an investment that grows steadily
over the long-term. For more, see

Management. |
