The Twins have reeled off five straight wins and now go for the sweep of Oakland. They are 50-23 at home this season and the hottest team in baseball since June. Franisco Liriano has been nearly unstoppable this year posting a 12-3 record and 12-3 record. At home he's 5-1 with a 1.48 ERA. Ridiculous. Dan Haren has been average (4.77 road ERA). The Twins are 19-7 vs. the league's elite (54%+ record). Twins at home with Liriano? I'll take it.

We'll get back on this one as many of the same reasons to back the Yankees exist again tonight. They are hot with lots of offense. They are playing the worst road team in the league - a team that has won 2 games on the road since the mid-way point. Sure, Hammel has pitched better than Lidle this season. But, we still get a very potent Yankees offense at home in this one in a similar situation as last night: off a high scoring game. New York is now 23-5 this season after a game in which 15+ runs were scored. Home teams whose hitters draw 4 walks or more/game, after scoring 7 runs or more 3 straight games are 35-8 (81%) over the last 5 seasons. Yankees again.
