Baseball Pick - September 12, 2008We missed on our MLB picks yesterday. We are 5-4 with our big dogs this month (180+) and we will be rolling with two more today. ![]() Today's MLB Baseball Picks: Cliff Lee looks to be the AL Cy Young winner hands down. He has had a magnificent season. The Indians however have not, and with Lee achieving the 20 win plateau and the Indians long out of it, this could be a good spot with Gil Meche on the mound for the Royals to steal one. Meche has pitched great, and the Royals are 12-4 in his last 16 starts. At the same time, the Royals are 30-21 against left-handed pitching while failing miserably against right handers at 32-62. We have a hot pitcher in Meche, who can stay with Lee for seven innings then the edge turns to KC as Cleveland owns the worst pen in baseball. I'll ride with the big dog in this one. Game: Cincinnati at Arizona (9:40 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Cincinnati +188 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 5.6) When the Dodgers lost eight straight, it looked like the D-Backs were gonna waltz to the NL West title. The problem was that Arizona has really gone cold. They have now lost six straight, and have managed to find the win column in just three of their last 16. The offense has managed just three runs a game in their last 16, and wins are hard to come by when your team isn't scoring, especially when your pitching staff is allowing six runs a game on the other side. Then there's Brandon Webb pitching to a 12+ ERA over his last three starts and the big dog suddenly takes on value, so I'll ride with the Reds here. ![]() MLB Baseball Picks Resources:
