Mlb Free Tips - September 07, 2009We nailed all four of our MLB premium picks yesterday for +9.8 units. Despite our recent ups and downs, over the last three months we are steamrolling at 208-145 (59%), for a whopping +148.8 units! Today we charge the hill with a 5-unit play on the night game as we feature three premium picks.
![]() Today's MLB Baseball Picks: The Blue Jays' bats woke up yesterday as they walked past the Yankees 14-8 on their way to a four-game split. During that four-game stretch, they tallied 29 runs, or over seven per game. The Twins dropped three out of their last four, and their offense, unlike the Jays, has gone stone cold. The Twins have managed just 26 runs in their last 10 games, or just 2.6 per game. They have also been at their worst against the AL East, where they stand at just 17-40 in their last 57 games played against them. That is quite the opposite to how the Blue Jays have greeted the AL Central as they now stand at 36-16 in their last 52 against them, and 4-1 with Richmond on the hill. The Twins have been rocked playing the Jays as they are now 7-21 in their last 28 played against the Jays. Those numbers look good compared to their 0-7 mark in their last seven played in Toronto. I'll go with the Jays in this one.Game: Tampa Bay at New York Yankees (7:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Tampa Bay +190 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 5.7) The Yankees have put so much distance between themselves and the Red Sox, that game two here is going to be a substitute fest for coach Girardi, win or lose game one. He has every reason to rest Jeter, A Rod, and the likes, giving them a night's rest, when the games have really lost their meaning. That opens the door for a Tampa Bay team that needs every win they can get their hands on to hang on to wildcard hopes. Add in a really struggling AJ Burnett who has pitched to a 9.92 ERA in his last three starts, and the recipe is in place for the rays to steal this one. I will go with Tampa Bay here.Game: Tampa Bay at New York Yankees (7:10 PM Eastern) Pick: 5 units on Tampa Bay +1.5 runs -110 (runline) (risk 5 to win 4.6) The Yankees have distanced themselves from the Red Sox in the AL East by a considerable margin. That surely means that in game two of a doubleheader, the key Yankee's veterans are going to get the night off. That means Jeter, A-Rod, Posada, and company, will likely not be in the lineup here. And when you throw in the fact that AJ Burnett has pitched to a 9.92 ERA in his last three starts, the makings of a Tampa win are in place here, and I'll back them on the runline. ![]() MLB Baseball Picks Resources:
