Mlb Picks - September 01, 2010We took a minor setback yesterday going 1-3 with our MLB picks. However, we are still hitting 60% with our MLB picks over the past six weeks, going 80-53 and grabbing our $100 bettors $3,170 during that time. We look to build onto that today with three premium picks including the early game selection below.
![]() Today's MLB Baseball Picks: The Chicago White Sox had an elongated stretch where they were 39-14 which has defined their season, but it also makes them appear like a better team than they really are. Outside of that really long stretch of playing well the White Sox have been not ordinary, but much less than ordinary. They are 33-46 outside of the long streak, so they have played poorly a lot more than they have played well. The Tribe has played it's best baseball of the season down the stretch and that includes beating the runline at home. Cleveland owns a 21-14 mark in their last 35 home games if facing a +1.5 runline. The White Sox are having trouble stringing together wins at 2-8 following a win. The Tribe bounces back after losing the first two games of a series at 5-1 in their last six. I'll back Cleveland on the runline here.Game: New York Mets at Atlanta (7:10 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Atlanta -180 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 1.7) The New York Mets are 18-30 over their last 48 games and reeling. This is a troubled franchise that lacks leadership on and off the field. It is a team that has underachieved for the last several years. They now play into an environment not conducive for changing the status quo. Atlanta has the best home record in baseball at 48-18. They also stand tall vs righthand pitching where they score just shy of five runs a game and are 53-33. The Mets have never played well in Atlanta where they have amassed a pathetic 24-54 mark in their last 78 games. The Mets, at 13-39 to a moneyline of +151 to +200 in their last 52, present no challenge here. Atlanta gets the call.Game: Toronto at Tampa Bay (7:10 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 7.5 -120 (risk 3 to win 2.5) The Toronto Blue Jays have struggled all season long trying to push across runs vs a lefthand pitcher. The Jays are averaging just 3.7 runs a game against southpaws, while they plate five a contest vs righthanders. They not only face a lefthander tonight in this one, but one of the best in David Price. Price has a 3.01 ERA heading into this one, but he is much better at home where his ERA stands at 2.26 for the season. The Rays are going to have to do most of the scoring to push this one over the total, but it will be a tough task vs Shaun Marcum, who has allowed three earned runs or less in 189 of his 25 starts, or 76% of the time. The Rays are 27-13-1 to the UNDER at home vs a team with a losing record in their last 41. I'll go with the UNDER in this one. Results: 2-1 ![]() MLB Baseball Picks Resources:
