Baseball Gambling Pick - October 23, 2008

We missed the mark on our pick last night, but look to rally today with two more World Series picks including a 4-unit play.

Today's MLB Baseball Picks:

Game: Philadelphia at Tampa Bay (8:20 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Tampa Bay -158 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 2.5)
Pick: 2 units on Game Total UNDER 8.5 -120 (risk 2 to win 1.7)

The Phillies took a 1-0 lead in the series thanks to a superb pitching performance by Cole Hamels. Tonight they will face Jamie Shields who has been the ace at home for the Rays. Shields brings a 12-4, 2.59 (ERA) mark into this contest, and he will be opposed by Brett Myers who has had a crazy season. Myers was pitching so bad that he was sent to the minors for nearly a month. When he came back he pitched lights out, then lost it again and allowed 10 runs in a start, but has settled down to be average as his 4.55 ERA would show. The Rays have been a dominant home team. The Rays have been a powerful 14-1 after a home loss on the season, and I expect them to win here tonight. I will also play this one UNDER as Myers is 19-7-2 to the UNDER when starting against an opponent that scored two runs or less in their previous game. Shields is 17-4 to the UNDER after his team scored two or less in the previous game. The Rays and the UNDER get the call tonight.
