The Yankees got a healthy dose of what they have been doing to teams all year as they were the victim of a walk-off hit that gave the Angels life in the series now facing a 2-1 deficit instead of 3-0 - huge difference. This is an intriguing matchup as the Yankees brought in CC Sabathia to give them the top of the rotation ace they have been lacking, while the Angels brought in Scott Kazmir specifically to beat the Yankees. Kazmir owns a stellar 2.65 ERA against the Yankees in 14 career starts, and has certainly had their number over the last five years. When Kazmir has taken the mound at home vs. the Yankees, the numbers shine even brighter as he has posted a 1.99 ERA against them. The Yankees are having problems putting together offense as all their runs were scored on HRs yesterday, and they have become too dependent on the longball. Sabathia has truly had his struggles vs. the Angels despite pitching well at home. The Yankees are just 8-21 in Anaheim - truly their chamber of horrors. Momentum and the right pitcher make the Angels a live dog here, so Anaheim gets the call.

This is a very tough spot for the Yankees. They have really struggled to find the win column in Anaheim where they are just 8-21 over their last 29 games. That breaks down to a 27.6% winning percentage. Scott Kazmir has pitched to a 1.99 ERA vs. the Yankees at home during his career while Sabathia shutdown the Angels at The Stadium, he has struggled vs. the Angels over his career. Getting the plus side of the runline against a team that is winning less than 30% of the time here with a favorable, situational pitching matchup, points toward the Angels getting the call on the runline.
