Mlb Game Predictions - October 12, 2008

Game: Philadelphia at Los Angeles (8:20 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Los Angeles -150 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 2.7)
Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 8 -110 (risk 3 to win 2.7)

The Dodgers have their work cut-out for them as they head back to LA trailing the Phillies two games to none. They will send Hiroki Kuroda to the mound and he has been a hot pitcher of late. In his first post-season appearance he pitched 6.1 scorless innings. Overall, he has now pitched to a 1.76 ERA over his last three starts. The Phillies have had trouble against him, as Kuroda has worked 13 innings against the boys from Philly, allowing just four hits while striking out 12, for an outstanding ERA of 1.38. The ageless Jamie Moyer will try to extend the Phillies lead to 3-0, but he has not fared well against the Dodgers where he is just 3-5 wih a 5.19 ERA. Los Angeles has the edge in this one, with their backs against the wall, and at home. I expect the motivated team with the hotter pitcher to win this one. I also like the UNDER as Kuroda has it going now. The Phils are 10-1 UNDER this season with Moyer on the bump when facing a winning team while the Dodgers are 24-13 UNDER vs. teams with a record of .540 or better this season. If either starter gets in trouble, these two pens finsihed #2 and #3 in baseball.
