Today's MLB Baseball Picks:

Game: Chicago White Sox at Tampa Bay (6:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Tampa Bay -1.5 runs +134 (runline) (risk 3 to win 4)

The Rays won their first postseason game in franchise history yesterday, and will send their ace Scott Kazmir to the hill tonight. Kazmir has been outstanding at home, leading the Rays to a 12-2 mark and has a stellar 2.90 ERA to back it up. He has also quieted this White Sox team as they have a combined .204 average against him over his career. He faces Scott Buehrle, who has not fared as well against this current Rays’ roster of hitters as they collectively hit .305 against him. The Rays have the most home wins in MLB this year and I expect them to add one more to that total in a big way here and will back them on the runline.

Game: Boston at Los Angeles Angels (9:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Boston +119 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 3.6)
Not often does a pitcher make it through the regular season without being tagged with a loss. Dice-K Matsuzaka has done just that for the Red Sox as he completed the regular season with a perfect 9-0 mark. That mark is no fluke as he has combined it with a 2.37 ERA, and hitters have managed just a .178 batting average against him. It gets even better. Matsuzaka has a 12-1 record in night games with a 2.48 ERA and a .198 batting average against him. He will square off with Ervin Santana who won 11 games prior to the All-Star break, but has tailed off since, winning just five games. He has been a better road pitcher at 11-2, 3.02 than at home, 5-5, and 4.03. I look for the Red Sox to go up 2-0 in the series and will back them here as a live dog.
