Game: Colorado at Chicago Cubs (2:20 PM Eastern)

Chicago owns the best mark in the league at 33-21 and they have won four straight. We really like their chances today of getting #5 in a row. Yes, Aaron Cook goes for Colorado and he has been a lone bright spot for the Rockies. But, his ERA has been slipping of late (4.29 over his last three starts compared to sub 2.50 in his first eight). And he just gets no run support. Colorado is averaging 3.7 runs per game on the road. Over the past seven games, Colorado has lost by an average of 4.3 runs per game! Chicago is the exact opposite. They are averaging 6.4 runs per game at home this season on .307 hitting. Lilly has been average at best but with that kind of run support, and a very solid pen (3.14 ERA) backing him up, he'll do fine against this weak Rockies offense. Chicago is 18-4 this season to a line of -100 to -150. Let's make that 19-4 after today.

We faded the D-Backs yesterday and scored with the Giants at +180. We'll fade Arizona again today at a very hefty price. Arizona is in a rut. They were swept by the lowly Giants and have lost four straight and eight of their last ten. They are facing a pitcher that is 6-3 with a 3.59 ERA. On the road, Redding's ERA is 2.37! So why is Arizona favored so heavily today? Is Micah Owings that good? No. Like Redding, the rest of the Nationals team plays better on the road than at home. They get 4.0 runs per game away from home vs. 3.6 at home. Yes, Arizona has the better offense but right now they just aren't playing well. Redding is 10-3 the past two seasons vs. teams that score 4.8+ runs per game. The Nats are 7-1 this season with him on the mound as an underdog. We sniff a lot of value on the Nats here at this price.

San Francisco swept the D-Backs and their confidence is all of a sudden high. On their nine-game road trip they went 6-3 and now come home with hope. They have to be happy to see the Pads in the other dugout as they have beaten San Diego four of five times already this season. San Diego gets just 3.5 runs per game on .239 batting. In division games they are 9-14, batting .204 and scoring 3.0 runs per game. They are 7-20 this season as an underdog and this team is an awful 1.-11 this season vs. a starting pitcher that gives up under 5.6 hits per game (Matt Cain has averaged 5.45 per game allowed). We'll back the hot Giants vs. the bad Padres.
