Mlb Free Picks - June 25, 2008
We had another big day on the bases yesterday as we nailed our 5-unit play on Minnesota as a +147 dog. The win helped us to a 3-1 finish for +9.3 units. Yesterday's win bumped us over the +100 unit mark as we now sit at +101.6 units and 60% (119-79) over the last six weeks.
We feature two 4-unit plays today including a very solid, selective pick in the late game.
Today's MLB Baseball Picks:
Game: Colorado at Kansas City (8:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on Kansas City +105 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 4.2)
The Royals are a young team and carry the trademark of a young team. They are very fragile and that allows for some real highs and lows. This team has dropped seven in a row and 12 in a row have now won nine of their last 10 games scoring almost 6.5 runs per game. The Royals are as hot as it gets! We aren’t sure how you don't pull the trigger on the hottest team in baseball playing at home as a dog. We sure can't resist. When you take into account this Rockies team is built for playing at home and always has been. Playing on the road has never been an asset to this team. This couldn't be highlighted more than by the fact that this team is now 6-22 in their last 28 road efforts and listed here as a favorite. We can't buy it, and the Royals get the call here.
Game: Minnesota at San Diego (10:05 PM Eastern)Pick: 4 units on Minnesota +121 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 4.8)
Someone isn't paying attention here. The Twins are on fire having won seven straight games including nine out of their 10. The seven-game streak has seen them outscore the opponent 43-13 and yielding less than two runs per game. How does a San Diego team that has already scored three runs or less in a game 31 times stay in this one? Jake Peavy threw a good game last night, but got just one run - a very familiar story surrounding this Padre team. This is a team that has had their run as they were recently 13-6 over a 19-game stretch, but have given it all back as they are now 1-7 in their last eight. Remember that outside of that 13-6 run, this team is 19-40 otherwise and favored against one of the hottest teams in baseball? We truly can't see any value in the home team, but chock full of value on the visiting Twins to make it back-to-back over the Padres and eight straight overall.
