Sports Handicapping Free Mlb Picks - June 22, 2008We passed on yesterday's card as none of the games slated met our standards for winning. Today we feature three picks as our MLB picks are up +78.9 units for 59% over the last four weeks. Today's MLB Baseball Picks: The Twins have caught fire as they have now posted wins in eight of their last 10 games, five in a row and the first two in this series. The pitching has been outstanding as they have allowed just nine runs in the five-game winning streak and have held Arizona to just three runs in the first two games here. The D-Backs have really struggled after an early big start, as they are just 9-16 over their last 25 and an even worse 6-15 in their last 21 on the road. Brandon Webb has been great, but hasn't won since June 6, and over his last three has pitched to a 6.46 ERA. The D-Backs won the first nine games that Webb started, but have been just 2-4 since and just 1-3 in his last four road starts. Good value here on the Twins. Game: Arizona at Minnesota (2:15 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Minnesota +1.5 runs -129 (runline) (risk 3 to win 2.3) For all the same reasons we like the Twins to win this one there is equal to more value playing this team on the runline. The D-Backs have had tons of trouble on the road going just 4-17 in their last 21 games to the -1.5 runline. Value stays with the Twins here. Game: Detroit at San Diego (4:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Detroit -120 (moneyline) (risk 3 to win 2.5) It is hard to ignore what the Tigers are doing right now. It was what they were supposed to do all season, but now they are doing it as they are 11-3 over their last 14 games while averaging 5.5 runs per game in the process while giving up less than four per. Justin Verlander was 18-6 for a reason last season - he has great stuff. And because he hasn't shown it this season, the value is on him now as he has found his groove. Verlander allowed four runs or more in seven of his first eight starts, but has been terrific since allowing four runs just one time in his last seven! The Padres were hot for awhile, but stand 1-5 over their last six, mainly because they have faced some big offenses in the Tigers and the Yankees and they just don't score enough to handle big offensive teams. We will ride the Tigers for the win here. MLB Baseball Picks Resources:
