Major League Baseball Premium Picks Newsletter June 18, 2007

Again, sincere apologies for the technical problems this weekend. Our main web server crashed and we were without access to data or the ability to send newsletters for much of the weekend. We worked night and day to get it back up and things appear to be back to normal today.

Today's MLB Baseball Picks:

Game: San Francisco at Milwaukee (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Milwaukee -131 (risk 3 to win 2.3)

The Brewers are playing superb having won four of five games. They scored 34 runs in those five games. Tonight they'll face Noah Lowry who owns a 7.94 ERA at this park. A rookie, Yovani Gallardo will be getting his first Bigs start but he was 8-3 with a 2.90 ERA and 110 strikeouts in 13 starts in Class AAA ball. So we think he can get it done today against a bad San Francisco offense. Backing him up is a very solid bullpen. Milwaukee has taken care of business vs. NL West opponents going 18-5 here at home vs. them over the past two seasons.

There will come a point in time when Tammpa Bay decides to have mercy and take Edwin Jackson out of the rotation. He is 0-8 with the highest ERA in memory, of someone that has pitched in a rotation this long. He stands at 8.20. Tack on 30 more runs that the D-Ray pen has allowed in his starts, and these games are difficult to win. The young D-Backs have had trouble with the good teams, as witnessed when they faced the Yankees and Red Sox, but they are 18-5 vs. teams with a losing record. But this game isn't about much other than fading a team that continues to run a starter out there that is not major league and backed by middle relief that is equally poor.

The Mets are collectively in a slump with two wins in their last 11 games setting the mindset of this team. They have also created a long track record of playing poorly following the Yankee series. They have gone 5-10 since 2000, getting out-scored 83-57. John Maine has lost the magic as well as he has just one win in his last seven starts. Carlos Silva has pitched good in 10 of 13 starts allowing 3 earned runs or less. We like the Twins to make some noise in NY vs the slumping Mets.
