The Mets will make the long trip to LA from Detroit where their woes have continued. The Mets have now dropped 6 of 7, and everything seems to be going wrong. They get good pitching - the hitting fails, they hit good- the pitching fails. Hernandez gets the nod today and he is not an innings eater and the Met’s pen has been really struggling lately. The last week has seen Heilman (7.20), Mota (10.13), Feliciano (18.00) and Schoenweiss (21.60) not getting it done. Wagner has also blown a save this week. The Dodgers will start Randy Wolf, who has excellent career numbers against the Mets, as the Mets big four of Beltran, Delgado, Reyes and Wright are a combined 15-74 against Wolf, barely over .200. We like the Dodgers at home today.
