Game: Kansas City at New York Yankees (1:05 PM Eastern)

After a couple slugfests between these two teams, it is an early getaway day game, which often times allows for some impatient hitters in the box. Mike Mussina has pitched better than anyone expected and with that only four of his 13 starts have produced games scoring over 10 runs. Luke Hochevar has not pitched very well, but there is one big difference this year for the Royals and that is the pen has done much better. In Hochevar's nine starts their bullpen has allowed less than a run a game. This has meant that in those nine starts, not a single one has produced a game total that has surpassed 10. We will play the UNDER in this one.

Cliff Lee found lightning in a bottle as he started the season 6-0 with an 0.67 ERA. It is not a pace any pitcher could possibly keep up and especially Lee, who is not on that level as a pitcher. Lee gave up just 25 hits in those first six starts and has given up 43 in his last five while suddenly pitching to an ERA in the mid 6's. Dontrelle Willis will be back for the Tigers who have now won two straight and everybody knows this is not a 10 game under .500 team. Playing at home against a suddenly struggling pitcher should lead to success. We will back the Tigers here.
Game: Cincinnati at Florida (7:10 PM Eastern)Pick: 4 units on Florida +120 (moneyline) (risk 4 to win 4.8)
Edinson Volquez has been a lights-out pitcher this season, but we saw it from Cliff Lee and briefly from the Reds' Johny Cueto as well. When does it end? But more importantly the value table flips to the otherside and we feel this is the time for that flip. As good as Volquez has been at home (pitching the Reds to a 6-0 mark) he has been somewhat less on the road at 4-3. The Reds are in the "poverty" zone on the road as they enter at 11-24. The Marlins are a 20-13 team at home and more importantly 6-1 behind Hendrickson, including six in a row. Not very often will you find a team 10 games better in the standings at home against the team's away record, that is a chunky home dog so we will grab the value here and ride the Marlins.
