Free Mlb Picks - July 25, 2007

Got the sweep yesterday. It was our third 3-0 day since the All-Star break. Over the past two weeks we are 23-13 for +25.7 units. On the season we stand at 58% for +70.2 units. Tonight we have a 5-unit game we really love.

Today's MLB Baseball Picks:

Game: Tampa Bay at Baltimore (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 5 units on Baltimore -191 (risk 5 to win 2.6)

The Orioles are not only a hot team right now having won 7 of 10, but they have a sizzling pitcher on the hill. Eric Bedard has virtually been unhittable of late. In his last three games Bedard has allowed just 6 hits in 23 innings while striking out an amazing 33 batters. His ERA a near perfect 0.39. He has also dominated this current Tampa Bay lineup over his career, holding them to a combined 24-122 for a .196 average. Chris Ray, the O's closer has done even better as he has held this TB roster to a .167 average. The Orioles have now won six Bedard starts in a row. He got off to a slow start, but since May 1st has pitched to a 2.09 ERA. The O's have played good baseball over the last month or so, posting a 16-12 mark. The D-Rays have been the worst team in baseball over the last month-and-a-half, going 9-28. Their pitching staff on the season has an ERA close to 7 on the road. The D-Rays annually post one of the worst road records in baseball. This year is no different as they have now gon 2-15 in their last 17 on the road, getting out-scored 143-76 in the process. Andy Sonnanstine has allowed 11 HR's in just 58 innings of work and it may take just one today to put this game on ice for the O's.

Game: Boston at Cleveland (7:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Boston -104 (risk 3 to win 2.9)

The Red Sox have been dormant for a long time and this team is too good to not go on a significant run. They are in the midst of just that right now, having rattled off five straight wins. We were on them yesterday and we'll back them again here. The Indians have gone cold winning just seven of their last seventeen since the 4th of July, getting outscored 90-79. This team relies on offense to win games and the 4.6r pg have not been enough. The Red Sox will throw yet another quality pitcher, and the back of the pen is just much better than Cleveland's. Every good team has a mediocre or poor stretch during the season, and every good team goes on a nice run. The Sox are in the midst of a good one now, while the Indians are in the midst of a lull. We will stay with the hot team here and would not be shocked if they sweep the Tribe on the road.

Game: New York Yankees at Kansas City (8:10 PM Eastern)
Pick: 4 units on New York Yankees -140 (risk 4 to win 2.9)

There are times during the season that a team can out-hit anyone they put on the mound. The Yankees are in one of those stretches right now. The Yankees are scoring runs in bunches, having averaged 10+ now for five games. And, seven of the nine hitters in the lineup have 4+ game hitting streaks. There are no soft spots and even Johnny Damon has caught fire. They banged out 13 more hits last night and have hung a pair of 9's on the Royals in the first two games. Gil Meche holds this line down as does an erratic Mike Musina. Meche hasn't exactly been great since mid-May, as he has pitched to a 5.13 ERA since. This team has sandwiched a 14-3 run, and their current 16-5 run, around a losing streak of 2-9. The Yankees look like a team on a mission, and are about as hot as it gets right now.

Results: 2-1
