Oakland has hit rock bottom. The A's have now lost five straight, and are just 7-17 in their last 24. This team just can't hit and right now they have been at their worst. The A's have managed just 18 runs in their last eight games, and not scored four runs in any of them. They have now gone eight straight games with eight hits or less, and as a team have averaged less than six during this slide. The pitching, which has carried this team, is giving up 6.4-runs per game (RPG) in their last 10, and the defense has made eight errors in the last eight games, a complete and total meltdown. The Twins dominated at home last season, but started slowly this season. They have gotten that home swagger back as they are now 15-7 in their last 22. Too hard to let this one pass.

The name isn't Pedro Martinez, or Roger Clemens, or Johan Santana, but the results are even better. There isn't a pitcher in baseball that has put together a string of 12 starts that can rival what Chris Young is doing. He has allowed one run or less in nine of his last 12 starts, twice allowed two runs, and three just once. The numbers are staggering. Young has worked 76 innings, allowing just 47 hits, while striking out 78 and an ERA of 1.18. Put one of those names mentioned above on this game, pitching lights-out and this moneyline is approaching -200. The D-Backs are the coldest team in baseball right now, winners of just two of their last 10 and four of 15. They hit under .250 as a team, and an even worse .212 over the last week. It isn't just Young, it is the Padres pen as well. Just 22 runs have been scored against the Padres in Young's last 12 starts, less than two a game. There isn't much else that needs be said in this one - the game is chock full of value!
Game: Detroit at Seattle (10:00 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Seattle +107 (risk 3 to win 3.2)
Seattle has been 31-16 in their last 47 games and outside of one bad stretch where they lost six in a row. They have been 31-10. During this stretch, they have yet to lose back-to-back home games. The Mariners have feasted on LHP to the tune of the best record in baseball at 16-7. The numbers tell the story, as they have a team batting average of over .300 against LHP. Miguel Batista got off to a horrific start posting a seven ERA through mid-May. He has turned his season around and has since pitched to a 3.41 ERA covering his last 10 starts and the M's are 7-3 in those games. Kenny Rogers has pitched very well in his three starts after coming off the DL, but he will face a team that has six hitters with career numbers over .300 against him and a lineup that has been lethal against LHP. Rogers has a losing record on his career against the M's as well.
