Baseball Gambling Pick - July 12, 2007

Despite finishing the the first half of the season on somewhat of a bad run, we had a great first half overall. We finished the first half of the season winning at 57% (163-121) for +48.5 units, or $4,850 for $100 per-unit players.

Today we are back from the All-Star break with two selections.

Now is also the time to pounce on our early-bird specials for the upcoming football seasons. Get the entire NFL season for $549, NCAA football season package for $449 or both season packages for $699.

Today's MLB Baseball Picks:

Game: Toronto at Boston (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Toronto +106 (risk 2 to win 2.1)

The Blue Jays have a 49-18, 73.1% record whenever Roy Halladay takes the mound. It is unusual to see him as an underdog, as since the 2005 season, this will be just the fifth time. The Jays are 4-0 in those games! Tim Wakefield has not been pitching well. Wakefield had a 1.79 ERA in his first seven starts and has since made 10 starts to a 6.34 ERA. The Red Sox limped into the break losing three straight and have had offensive problems that have been on-going since June. We will take the dog with the pedigree in this one.

Game: Cincinnati at New York Mets (7:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: 2 units on Cincinnati +152 (risk 2 to win 3)

Bronson Arroyo had a nightmarish start to the season and has finally rounded into form. He has had complete control of the Mets’ lineup, as the top five Mets’ hitters: Wright (1-7), Reyes (2-8), LoDuca (0-3), DelGado (2-14) and Beltran (1-8), combine to go 6-40 against Arroyo - good for a .150 average. El Duque has also struggled against the Reds, and this game comes at the right time as the Mets have been struggling period. The Mets are just 14-21 since June 1, and a struggling offense vs. a pitcher that has dominated their lineup as a big dog presents value that is hard to resist.
