![]() Today's MLB Baseball Picks: The Nats certainly are a far cry from being a good team as their pitching is amongst the worst in baseball. That changes when John Lannon takes to the mound. Lannon has been the one shinning star in a "hold your breath" pitching staff for the Nats. Lannon has pitched to a three ERA over his last ten starts and an even better 2.57 over his last six. He has also allowed three earned runs or less in nine of the last ten, which certainly puts pressure on the opponent to hold the Nats down when considering the runline. Tommy Hansen has been great for the Braves, but to continue at his present pace is not likely. Braves have been a failure on the road as a favorite as they are just 14-29 in their last 43 as a road favorite, and have failed eight straight times with the total at 7-8.5. The Braves have also been just 2-8 in their last ten in Washington. I'm going with the Nats here on the runline.Game: Houston at San Francisco (4:05 PM Eastern) Pick: 3 units on Game Total UNDER 7 +100 (risk 3 to win 3) Tim Lincecum is rapidly positioning himself as one of the top starters in baseball. He is off an impressive 18-4 season and enters this one at 8-2. When you consider the fact that he has allowed just nine earned runs in his last eight starts, it becomes clear he has some extra special stuff. He has also allowed Houston just six total runs in his last four starts against them. Russ Ortiz has been no slouch either as he has allowed just 19 earned runs in his eight starts on the season and in no game has he allowed more than three. Houston has now played to a 17-5 mark to the under in their last 22 games posted as a dog. The Giants have under madness as well as they are now 25-11-3 to the under vs teams with a losing record. Runs certainly look to be hard to come by here and I'll back the UNDER in this one. Results: 1-1 ![]() MLB Baseball Picks Resources:
