Game: Minnesota at Los Angeles Angels (3:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: 3 units on Los Angeles Angels -1.5 runs +132 (runline) (risk 3 to win 4)
The Angels have been about the best team in baseball all season long. Ervin Santana has had a great year for the Angels and has been at his best over his last four starts where he has put together a 2.28 ERA. The Twins took the first two games in this series as the Angels look for the equalizer today, coming off of last night’s win over the Twins. The Angels have not lost a series to an AL team all season as they have really protected their home turf better than any team in baseball. The Twins have a losing record when Slowey starts against a team with a winning record, and we like the Angels to win this one on the runline.
Game: San Diego at San Francisco (4:05 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on San Francisco -1.5 runs +171 (runline) (risk 3 to win 5.1)
The Giants have been a hot team as they have now won six of their last seven games. The pitching has been outstanding as they have allowed just 18 runs or just over 2.5 runs per game. The Padres are now on a six-game losing streak, and they just can't produce enough runs to win games. Yesterday's three-run performance now leaves the Padres having scored three runs or less 72 times on the season. Josh Banks has pitched very poorly of late as indicated by his 10.80 ERA over his last three starts. He has totally lost his control, as he has walked 13 in his last eight innings of work. Overall the Padres are now just 2-10 in his last 12 starts. We will back the Giants on the runline here.
Game: Florida at Arizona (4:10 PM Eastern)Pick: 3 units on Arizona -1.5 runs +169 (runline) (risk 3 to win 5.1)
The Diamondbacks are fresh off a 7-1 win over the Marlins yesterday and have now won nine of their last 12 games. Florida hung in the NL East race most of the year, but has faded with a 5-10 mark over their last 15 games. The offense has managed just 53 runs during this stretch or just 3.5 runs a game. The D-Backs’ offense has been red-hot during their 12-game stretch as they have now averaged 6.2 runs a game. The Diamondbacks have now opened up a three-game lead in the NL West. We like them and their hot offense to win big today and take the series from the fading Marlins.
