West Coast Results: Hollywood Park (Oak Tree) Race #1 Top Pick #1 (Cost of Freedom) $3.40. Hollywood Park Race #2 Exacta (1-5) $26.40. Hollywood Park Race #3 Exacta (2-1) $8.80. Hollywood Park Race #5 Exacta (6-7) $20.00. ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #3 (ZOMBYSLAYERMRDARCY) - Has the best early speed, drops slightly, races second back off a two month break, is working fast, and has his blinkers removed for this. The top selection. 2nd pick: #6 (Double D's Diamond) - Colt raced evenly in his debut here Oct. 14 and he was a bit wide that day. Great second-out barn (Mike Mitchell 35%) also adds blinkers (30%). Those two starts are hard to ignore. Strong win candidate. 3rd pick: #1 (What's The Rumpus) - Has good early speed and draws the rail. In the O'Neill barn and he names another apprentice, so presume that he'll be sent hard from the start. Can contend if he were to clear. 4th pick: #7 (Swiss Hero) - Probable favorite has finished third in his last pair here, both at this price-tag. Speed/stalker is an obvious contender, but is beatable. HOLLYWOOD PARK (OAK TREE) Race #2 at 1:30 PM Pacific Top pick: #6 (MAJESTIC AFLEET) - Stalker drops back into a claimer and will also move from the turf back to the main-track. He finished a strong second two back at Fairplex in his only previous attempt for a tag, and raced evenly here facing tougher last out on the grass. Has all the speed to hie left in the gate and he's the horse to beat. 2nd pick: #5 (Wylie N Wyatt) - He rallied to just miss here at this level Oct. 8. Effort was the best of his 7 race career and came in his first off a Jack Carava claim. He's the only entrat with a previous win on this surface and he's a strong win threat. 3rd pick: #4 (Cruz Blanca) - Working fast for his first start since March 7 and gelding is in a good barn (John Sadler). Has good early speed and is a threat if ready. 4th pick: #7 (Scorsese) - Recent maiden winner is lightly raced, in a good barn (Kathy Walsh), and is working well for his first facing winners. Nicely spotted and he has room for upside. HOLLYWOOD PARK (OAK TREE) Race #3 at 2:00 PM Pacific Top pick: #1 (FOLK DANCER) - Lightly raced, well-bred, in a good barn (Vlad Cerin), and she comes off a very strong try here at this level and distance on Oct. 9. Has the rail, and Pat Valenzuela (who was aboard in her latest win) is back aboard. The top choice. 2nd pick: #6 (She's Not Lion) - She raced evenly here last out in her first at this level and catches a field with a lot of speed to rally into. Capable, and not often you get the Carava/Bejarano combo at a nice price. 3rd pick: #7 (Pink Diamond) - Logical contender has finished second in five straight turf sprints including her latest, which came here at this level and trip Oct. 9. Hard to imagine her not running a big race here, but she does have a bit of seconditis to cure. 4th pick: #3 (Naughty Mariana) - Tries hard every time and she wasn't beaten much last out in a race common to several others. Can contend today and she'll probably be a big price. HOLLYWOOD PARK (OAK TREE0 Race #6 at 3:35 PM Pacific Top pick: #3 (POLISHED NICKEL) - Working fast wherever she's been stabled and home-bred is in a barn (Tom Proctor) that's winning all over the place this season. He's (8-2-2-2) at this session and if this gelding runs to his drills, he'll wind up in the winner's circle. 2nd pick: #5 (Red Sharp Humor) - Freshened-up by the Hollendorfer barn since Aug. 21 he showed good speed when last raced and is working fast for this. Big player today. 3rd pick: #8 (Aqua Fever) - Colt "won" his debut at Fairplex but was disqualified for "drifting out" late. He showed big early speed that day and is working sharply locally for this. 4th pick: #2 (Special Kid) - Has some speed and will be making back-to-back starts for the first time. Gets a rider upgrade to P. Val and think he'll run well at a square price. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
