We are coming off our win at The Preakness Stakes with Lookin at Lucky, and are chomping at the bit to get back out there for the Belmont! The Belmont Stakes is now only five days away and we'll have a special newslteer featuring the final leg of the "Triple Crown" along with five other races on the big under-card. Look for in by late Friday afternoon. Today's west coast racing newsletter has four races from Hollywood Park. Today's Best Bet is #2 Belleofthebride in Race #2 at Hollywood Park. West Coast Results: Hollywood Park Race #2 Top Pick #3 (Given Episode) $6.60. Hollywood Park Race #7 Exacta (5-7) $27.20.  Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #1a (HIGH STANDARDS) - Veteran loves the local surface (9-4-1-2) and has been around long enough to have won here when they still ran on conventional dirt. He won here May 5 in his return to synthetics after spending the whole winter cross-town racin on the grass. Baejarano stays put and this old-timer is the horse to beat. 2nd pick: #4 (Spirits of Cochise) - Also like the local footing (7-3-0-2) and also comes off a win here May 7. Has a bit mor speed than the top pick and that makes him a strong win candidate. 3rd pick: #2 (Hewitts) - Consistent speed/stalker was a stakes performer at one time and he's returned from a long layoff earlier this year (9 months) about the same horse that left (which isn't always the case). Tough competitor in this amall field. HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #2 (THE WILLARD PROCTOR MEMORIAL) at 1:30 PM Pacific Top pick: #2 (BELLEOFTHEBRIDE) - Filly was rumored to be a real runner before her debut and she didn't disappoint her backers as she went wire-to-wire in fast time and paid $4.20 to win to the faithful. She faces males in this stakes attempt but she beat them in her impressive initial outing. Bargain priced ($6000) daughter of "Yes It's True" has a trio of fast local works since and is the horse to catch and beat. She's one of a pair entered by trainer Walt Solis and they'll race uncoupled. 2nd pick: #7 (Edgewick Road) - Has some finishing punch and he draws a nice outside post this afternoon. He should appreciate the distance increase to 5.5 furlongs and is a stretch threat. 3rd pick: #5 (Tappin Tough) - The second of the Solis pair rallied late to win his debut and did so despite a less than perfect trip. He's worked sharply twice since and will offer a very good price in the same race exotics. 4th pick: #1 (Clubhouse Ride) - Still a maiden but he closed powerfully last out to finish third to "Edgewick" and was less than a length off him at the finish. Stretch threat if he doesn't fall too far back from his rail draw. HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #6 at 3:35 PM Pacific Top pick: #9 (SMOKENOMORE) - Already proven that he can compete at this level and last out he came up only a "head" shy of clearing this 2l condition. Flexible style is a plus and he's drawn outside of the other speed. The top pick, but reverse those exactas. 2nd pick: #8 (Goshawk) - Lightly-raced gelding by "Hennessy" from the Baffert barn broke his maiden here on April 21 going wire-to-wire when he was dropped into a claimer for the first time. $250,000 yearling purchase has worked fast since and he may just now be getting the hang of things. 3rd pick: #3 (Majestic Run) - Claimed last out By Doug O'Neill for today's $12,500 tag gelding was making his first start in just over a year and showed good return speed that day while racing wide. He's worked twice locally since that April 25 claim and should run much better today. He's one of a pair entered by the trainer and they race uncoupled. 4th pick: #4 (Full On) - The second of the O'Neill pair was away slowly last out and raced evenly once in stride. Barn adds blinkers for this and gelding is a stretch threat. HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #8 at 4:35 PM Pacific Top pick: #9 (DAVE'S PACEMAKER) - Colt races third off a five month layoff and has been razor sharp in his return Pair. Colt stretches-out in distance today and goes turf to poly for the barn of A.C. Avila who's having a break-out year. Speed/stalker draws a good post and has a near bullet work at Santa Anita May 24. Lots of things to like. 2nd pick: #6 (Imco Spirit) - Irish import finished a solid second at Santa Anita April 18 in a tough, optional-$40K claimer who's winner came back to take another. Working fast and trainer Mike Puype adds blinkers today. Win candidate. 3rd pick: #3 (El Martillo) - Veteran seems better on the grass but trainer Bob Baffert decides to send him in this spot anyway. No speed type should get a solid pace to rally into. 4th pick: #8 (Brenthurst) - He just missed last out going 6 furlong here May 7 racing for $40,000 and was claimed that day by Jim Kasparoff. Stalker likes this surface (2-1-1-0) and has some very good breeding. He was only a 1/2 length back of "Pacemaker" when they met on April 9. 5th pick: #1 (Derive) - Has some early speed and he just missed last out at this level on this surface going a furlong shorter.
