Free Horse Racing Tip - September 29, 2008Today's menu will feature four races, two each from Delaware and Philadelphia Park. Today's Best Bet is #7 Some Kind of Magic in Race #6 at Delaware Park. ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #3 (KISSA MELISSA) - Claimed by mid-Atlantic regular Mike Gorham three back, filly has improved steadily since that time. Easy win last out in a claimer and this starter-allowance crew isn't that much tougher. In shape and the horse to beat. 2nd pick: #8 (Fastastic) - Tries starter-allowance foes after failing as the chalk in her last pair in "conditioned" allowance company. This field is about of the same quality as the one she faced last out. Consistent and she's a win threat. 3rd pick: #2 (Juju's Girl) - Tries hard just about every time she races. Narrow defeat two back in one of these and she finished 3rd last out to a runaway winner. Exotics threat. DELAWARE PARK Race #4 at 2:05 PM Eastern Top pick: #12 (BEAT THE CHALK) - Good second place finish last out for this tag at Penn National despite having some traffic woes. Race was his first for Tim Hooper and think he'll receive a nice pace set-up with a lot of "cheap" speed signed on. Rolls by late. 2nd pick: #7 (Straight Up Twelve) - Drops back down after a failed effport against tougher. Proven at this tag, runner not that long ago was defeating better. Obvious contender and a win threat. 3rd pick: #8 (Stability) - Ships in from his home-base of Penn National where he's had a good year (12-3-4-2). Has some speed and should be in range as they turn for home. He may sneak away at a square price. 4th pick: #5 (Wildly) - Hasn't won in a long time, and although he has hit the board in two of his last three at Penn National, a minor award would appear to be his top. PHILADELPHIA PARK Race #6 at 2:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #3 (IRON BULL) - Just missed in his last when he came flying home into a slow pace but fell a "nose" short. Working fine since, he's in a winning barn (Chris Grove 20%) and the rider (Gerard Acosta) makes the trip in with the horse. 2nd pick: #6 (Love That Pop) - Moves up from a pair of $40,000 claimers to try MSW competition in start number three. Both of those races had runaway winners, so this isn't that big a move up. Trainer (Ned Allard) is a sharp one. 3rd pick: #4 (Roaring Off) - Finished third last out in a Pennsylvania-bred race on the Presque Isle poly-track. Has some finishing punch and will be moving onto real dirt today. Trainer (Gladys McHargue) is winless in '08. DELAWARE PARK Race #6 at 3:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #7 (Some Kind of Magic) - Claimed by the Mike Gill stable two back at Suffolk, runner responded with an easy win first off that buy. Now here with Gill's local trainer, Tim Hooper, he has picked a winning spot for the shipper. 2nd pick: #6 (War Torn) - Speed/stalker just missed 2nd last out when he lost a "nose" bob to the #2 runner "Majestic Melody". He'll need to avoid a duel with that foe to have a shot. 3rd pick: #2 (Majestic Melody) - Set/pressed the pace last out at this tag and distance and held well for the place. Not as sharp as he was earlier this year and he'll face pace pressure today. 4th pick: #8 (Left Field) - Closed from far back to win his last at Philly Park. That style is a tough one on this course, but you can't change his style now. Could hit the exotics. ![]() Horse Racing Picks Resources:
