Best Horse Racing Systems - September 24, 2008Belmont reopens today after their usual dark days of Monday and Tuesday. Santa Anita also opens their "Oak Tree" meet today which will in include the "Breeders Cup World Thoroughbred Championships" in late October. During that month, we will offer periodic races from Santa Anita on our Racing Newsletter as a sort of a "warm-up" to the big day. Today we have four races from Belmont for selections and analysis. Today's Best Bet is #4 Driven By Success in Race #2 at Belmont Park. Tuesday's Results: Delaware ParRace #3 Top Pick #5 (Shy Baby) $5.80. ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #9 (UNBRIDLED UNION) - Goes turf to dirt, shortens up in distance, and drops in claiming price. Stalker should receive a lively pace to rally into. 2nd pick: #6 (Demaliat) - Finished a close up second at Saratoga for this tag in her first against winners. Held well in her latest while facing tougher to also finish second. Big win player. 3rd pick: #4 (Unicorn Girl) - Drops from $35,000 down to $20K for her second start against winners. Lightly raced and she has good speed. Contender for the top spot. 4th pick: #1 (Wisdom and Luck) - Not much, but she draws the rail and will be making her second start off a 10 month layoff. She showed good speed in her return while racing wide. Chance at a big price. BELMONT PARK Race #2 at 1:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (DRIVEN BY SUCCESS) - Stands out over this field and will be a very short price. Try and hook him up on top with our other three selections to try and hit a triple. 2nd pick: #6 (Introspect) - Has a chance at a bit of a price to sneak into the tri and maybe the exacta. One time stakes performer has slipped a bit, but his last pair weren't bad. 3rd pick: #3 (Endless Circle) - Logical "underneath" selection, has finished second in his last pair, including a strong effort in the "John Morrissey" stakes at Saratoga. Probable second pick in the wagering. 4th pick: #4 (Please Impress) - Goes turf to dirt after a winning race going short at the Spa. In a crafty barn (Richard Dutrow) and he's run well on the dirt before. BELMONT PARK Race #5 at 3:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #2 (CHARMING OFFICER) - Ships in from Prairie Meadows where she showed big speed in her debut on August 22. Race was against "open" maiden company and she has since shipped east to run against her fellow state-breds. Nice drill at Monmouth for this. 2nd pick: #3 (Sister of Mercy) - Daughter of "Holy Bull" has a pair of very fast works leading into her debut run. In a winning barn (Gary Contessa) and Dominguez is signed on. Trainer/jockey combination is a strong one, winning at 18%. 3rd pick: #8 (Afleet Aya) - Trainer (Rich Schosberg) doesn't claim many anymore, so his August 1st purchase of this filly is of some interest. She's finished a solid 2nd in her first pair and will race today off almost eight weeks of freshening. Could receive a nice trip. 4th pick: #1 (Vladimira) - She's finished in the money in eight of her 12 starts at various distances, on both turf and dirt. Has enough talent to sneak into the tri at a nice price. BELMONT PARK Race #9 at 5:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #5 (J T MOORE) - Colt has displayed good speed in both of his outings. Drops into a claimer for the first time and will go turf to dirt. Son of "Mayakovsky" has a big recent work in preparation for this. 2nd pick: #6 (Paramedic) - Well bet in all three of his outings, he finished third in his latest at Saratoga with come from behind tactics. Think he's ready to show whatever he has. 3rd pick: #3 (Bitabaz) - Improved run last out in start number 2 when he was dropped in for a tag and lasix was administered. He's worked three times since and is a win threat. 4th pick: #2 (Suddenly Silent) - Son of "Quiet American" is from a good barn (Tom Proctor) and colt raced evenly in his Saratoga debut. Coa is aboard today and he draws the rail. 5th pick: #1 (Sweet Groom) - Well bet in both starts, he's shown speed and backed up in his first pair. Could improve enough to hit the board. ![]() Horse Racing Picks Resources:
