Triple Crown Horse Racing - September 08, 2008We had a nice Sunday at Belmont with all four of our top winners scoring along with four exactas and a pair of triples. For full results see below: Today we have a total of four races, two each from Delaware and Philadelphia Park. Today's Best Bet is #5 Sheriff's Choice in Race #4 at Delaware Park. Sunday's Results: Belmont Park Race #2 Top Pick #1a (Itobe) $5.10. Belmont Park Race #3 Top Pick #1a (Wild Logic) $4.20. Belmont Park Race #4 Top Pick # 1 (Merchant Marine) $3.90. Belmont Park Race #5 Top Pick #1 (R. Betty Graybull) $4.20.  Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #5 (EL CAMPO) - Sharp veteran has won three of his last six since being claimed by trainer Jayne Vaders. Probably was best in his latest after breaking slowly, launching a wide rally from last place and just failing by a 1/2 length. Fast pace on view, and that will help his cause. 2nd pick: #2 (Ironton) - This runner is also trained by Jayne Vaders, though they'll race as separate betting interests. Drops back into a conditioned claimer after meting "open" foes in his last pair. Contender for the win. 3rd pick: #1 (Means to Win) - Scott Lake trained runner has won three of his last four and brings speed/stalking ability to go along with his rail post. Well spotted today. DELAWARE PARK Race #2 at 1:10 PM Eastern Top pick: #6 (PRICE OF FREEDOM) - Sharp recent form and she ran her best ever in picking up her second win last out. Can stalk the pace and win this turning for home. 2nd pick: #2 (Questionable Love) - Speedy filly is improving at this stage, and in her latest was just beaten on the wire at Monmouth. Looks like the fastest early in this one, and she could prove tough to catch. 3rd pick: #1 (Dorothy's Calling) - Finished an even third in her last pair at this tag and condition going six furlongs. Shortens up a 1/2 furlong today and draws the rail. Filly should have good position turning for home from which to do some damage. DELAWARE PARK Race #4 at 2:05 PM Eastern Top pick: #5 (SHERIFF'S CHOICE) - Nice return run, finishing second in her first start in eight months. That performance was the best any of these has ever run and a repeat wins this. 2nd pick: #6 (Diva Maria) - Freshened up for the past seven months by trainer Mike Trombetta. Trainer won with a runner here yesterday off a long layoff and Dominguez (who was aboard that winner) is aloft this filly. 3rd pick: #3 (Quiet Hope) - She's finished second in her last pair going longer and will cut-back to six furlongs today. Contender for the exotics. 4th pick: #4 (Officer Cat) - Goes turf to dirt in her second off a long layoff. Filly by "Officer" finished second in that return run, and if she can transfer that form to the dirt, she could impact the outcome. PHILADELPHIA PARK Race #6 at 2:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #8 (CREATE A SCENE) - Solid in her last half-dozen races (6-1-4-0) for trainer Vaders. Nearing her peak, fits this group, and draws a nice post for the distance. 2nd pick: #4 (Moonspark) - Speedy sort will be cutting back to a sprint off a pair of two-turn contests. The cut back could lead to a big effort today. 3rd pick: #1 (Diamond Express) - Picked up career win number two last out with a tough, gritty performance.
