Free Horse Racing Tip - October 28, 2008A reminder that Aqueduct begins its long fall-winter meet tomorrow, first on their main track and then moving to the inner-dirt surface in early December. This meet will last until late April when Belmont will open for it's spring session. As we mentioned yesterday, we'll wait until Saturday to share our thoughts on this years "Breeder's Cup" and how the results will weigh in upon the upcoming "Horse of the Year" voting. Today we'll concentrate on Delaware for three of our picks with a single contest from Philadelphia Park. Since the races from Delaware are in order, a reminder that Pick-3's and Doubles are available for your wagering if you choose that strategy. Today's Best Bet is #8 Genuine Look in Race #3 at Delaware Park. Monday's Results: Philadelphia Park Race #1 Ex. (6-1) $41.40.  Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #1 (GARP) - Colt will take a sharp drop for this attempt after a good try against tougher last out. Mark Shuman trained colt finished close-up running for $50K last out and had a very wide trip. Drops in half and draws the rail. 2nd pick: #3 (Lasso Cat) - Makes only his second start and he'll drop off of that MSW contest into a claimer. Trainer (Sam Cronk) is a fine 20% with his runners making their second start. 3rd pick: #5 (Sky Clipper) - Hasn't shown much to date, but he'll be going second off a seven-week freshening and he should offer whatever he has. In a solid barn (Hamilton Smith). DELAWARE PARK Race #2 at 1:10 PM Eastern Top pick: #3 (S.S.Sinatra) - Very sharp at present as he's (4-2-1-0) since coming to the barn of Juan Carrasco. Speed/stalker can win this with either strategy. 2nd pick: #4 (Red Gulch) - Likes to stalk and pounce and should receive a trip in the clear just outside the speed. Scott Lake-trained runner has traded decisions with the top pick in the past. 3rd pick: #2 (Ahead of Time) - Solid runner has competed well all year and recently picked up his fourth lifetime win. He's improved his performance level since coming to the Mike Catalano barn four starts back. 4th pick: #1 (Signature Dancer) - Finished second in his latest to the top choice and was claimed out of that race by Juan Carrasco. He moves to the rail and moves up slightly in claiming price. Exotics threat at a square price. DElAWARE PARK Race #3 at 1:35 PM Eastern Top pick: #8 (GENUINE LOOK) - Debut at Philly Park just over two weeks ago was fine. Raced at the MSW level, the pace was very fast and race had a runaway winner. This filly made up some late ground and finished fourth. Drops into a claimer, attracts Dominguez, and her trainer (Steve Klesaris) wins at a 36% rate with his second-time starters. 2nd pick: #4 (Truck Ride) - Filly has the most races on her resume (four) and they've come at four different tracks. Dale Capuano trained runner has raced evenly and not far off the pace in several of her efforts. This lightly raced group is susceptible to someone like her. 3rd pick: #6 (Fur Lined) - Had a tough trip in her debut in early August. Drew a wide post (12) in the large field (13) on the Colonial turf course and she was wide the whole race. Freshened up since, she returns dropping from a MSW race and she'll try the dirt today. PHILADELPHIA PARK Race #6 (PHILADELPHIA PARK) at 2:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #2 (LION BY MY SIDE) - Sharpened up in a sprint last out, this son of "Lion Hearted" will attempt two turns for the second time in his career. Set all the pace in his previous try going long before tiring late back into third. Winner of that one came back to take another. Wire-to-wire win win threat. 2nd pick: #7 (Clifton Hall) - Colt finished third in his last at Monmouth after stalking the early pace. Freshened up for the past two months, he's been training sharply at Belmont for trainer Tom Albertrani. 3rd pick: #4 (Desert Falcon) - Closed from far back last out in the slop to just miss.
