Friday at Santa Anita, the first five races of the 2008 event will be held. These will consist of all the filly and mare contests. The following day, nine stakes for males highlighted by the $5,000,000 "Classic" headed by "Curlin" will be decided. Today we'll go back to Delaware for three races and Philadelphia Park for a single contest. Today's Best Bet is #5 Price of Freedom in Race #4 at Delaware Park. Monday's Results: Delaware Park Race #2 Ex. (Box of top two 1a-5) $23.00.  Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #5 (MEAN SALLY) - Drops way down and switches surfaces. This field is very weak and a low-percentage barn reaches out to jockey Ramon Dominguez. The horse to beat. 2nd pick: #6 (Overt n Out) - Makes her first start on real dirt after shipping here from So. California. Filly has been here for a couple of months and has been training steadily for trainer Doug O'Neill. 3rd pick: #1 (Indigena) - Draws the rail and filly has hit the board in five of her 10 races all at low-end claiming prices. Exotics possibility. PHILADELPHIA PARK Race #2 at 12:50 PM Eastern Top pick: #5 (FISHER'S MILL) - Drops down slightly and will make her first start for trainer Tim Hills after starting her career with Jim Ryerson. Has some speed/stalking ability and think she can win this at square odds. 2nd pick: #8 (Cordial Lady) - Improved speed and better overall effort noted in her latest when she dropped down to this tag for the first time. Contender from on or just off the top. 3rd pick: #3 (Slew All Over) - Rallied late to finish second in her first try for this $12,500 pricetag. She's been bet in all of her starts and is in a winning barn (Tony Dutrow). 4th pick: #9 (Alittlebitspecial) - Firster by "Tactical Cat" debuts for a capable barn (Mark Shuman 15%) Nad has a nice recent half-mile work at Fair Hill. DELAWARE PARK Race #4 at 2:05 PM Eastern Top pick: #5 (PRICE OF FREEDOM) - Speedy filly was recently claimed by the high-percentage Ben Feliciano Jr. barn. New trainer runs her back for the same pricetag and filly has been improving of late. Wire-to-wire threat. 2nd pick: #1 (Holy Trouble) - Easily disposed of 3l foes at this price when trainer Gary Contessa shipped her here and dropped her to the bottom tag. Competitive without winning against better earlier this year, she stays at the same tag for this attempt. Big Threat. 3rd pick: #7 (Debbie's a Trip) - Filly has raced well in both of her appearances at this tag. Has some speed/stalking ability and she's an exotics possibility. DELAWARE PARK Race #6 at 3:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (CRYPTO PRIME) - Depp closer will race at this $5000 price for the firs time. Almost always puts in a late run and he should do so again today. Win contender. 2nd pick: #8 (Spiritual Call) - Wide in his last at Philly Park, he has displayed good speed in many of his previous starts. If he breaks alertly he could lead them a very long way at a square price. 3rd pick: #9 (River of Dreams) - For the most part he has raced evenly in all of his '08 races, most against tougher. Stretches-out for this and he shouldn't be far from the top. Price play. 4th pick: #1 (Pure Devil) - Draws the rail and this Pete Walder runner will get a big switch to jockey Ramon Dominguez.
