Trifecta (1-3-7) Paid $ 39.40. ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 2) CAMMY'S CHOICE - Big speed closest to the rail, and she goes third off a layoff. Has moved forward since returning from a two-month rest and a barn switch to Kiaran McLaughlin. (# 7) What's Your Point - Goes first out for Contessa off of the recent claim. Premature move in last when she took the lead around the turn, opened up, but was caught on the wire. Big chance today. (# 1A) Montauk Daisy - Regrouped after only a single start this season. She's working very well for this comeback race and will go without blinkers. (# 5) Smokin Sarah - Threw in a bit of a clunker in last at the Spa. Fits well here, and she should resort to previously successful stalking tactics. BELMONT PARK Race #EIGHT (4:40 PM Eastern) (# 9) Lady Marlboro - Goes turf to dirt and has a good effort in her only race at this distance over this surface last May. In fact she stayed on well to finish second to "Dream Rush." Good shot at a mild upset. (# 6) City Bird - Probable favorite and possible pace setter, has run well in all four starts to date. Ran well over this surface at a mile in last with first-time blinkers. (# 3) Dorm Fever - Uncoupled barnmate of the top pick and she is a quality runner in her own right. Good shot at the prize. (#'s 5 and 8) Ruban Bleu and Meadow Breeze - Would use this pair in small exacta boxes with the top selection. SANTA ANITA Race #FOUR (5:30 PM Eastern) (# 6) SOUTH AFRICAN BABY - Goes third off a layoff and drops back to a sprint for trainer Bill Spawr. Is in good racing condition and faces some lightly-raced runners. Take her at good odds. (# 3) Hilogold - Probable front-runner goes from poly surface to turf. Has speed and is bred on the dam's side for the grass. Probable favorite holds no real advantage. (# 5) Minamite - Comes back after two months on the sidelines and has two good efforts on the infield to her credit. (# 7) Sylvana - Workouts are incredibly fast for this daughter of "Indian Charlie" off a 1 1/2 year layoff. Could win this if she's ready. SANTA ANITA Race #EIGHT (7:35 PM Eastern) (# 13) DOWNTOWN LOVER - Good price play in a wide open affair. Filly is lightly raced, having only a pair of starts at two last season and two runs this year. Poor start in seasonal debut at Del Mar and a good effort at Fairplex in last. So she goes third off a layoff, tries 6.5-furlongs today, is working well and draws a good post. (# 4) Magic Label - Has improved a bit with each successive start this year. This marks her fourth appearance, and she has displayed a strong closing kick. (# 3) Larue - Appears capable of a good run. Good third-place finish in last at this distance at Fairplex. ( #'s 8 and 9) Warren's Mystery and Soda Pop Syd - Would use this pair in small exacta boxes with the top two selections. Wide open nature of this event should ensure good odds on all. ![]() Horse Racing Picks Resources:
