He's run well in his first pair and meets a field without a lot of experience. Think he can win this. 2nd pick: #9 (Captain Booyah) - Good initial race as he debuted at a difficult distance (7 furlongs)and raced evenly in a large field from a tough inside post. Continues to work fast and he is a big factor.. 3rd pick: #7 (Blazenbare) - Firster by "Smoke Glacken" has mostly below average works but has a bullet 4-furlong work earlier this season at Belmont. Bruce Levine trained runner may sneak away at big odds. 4th pick: #2 (Cires) - Firster had some good works at Saratoga but never made it to the gate. Trainer (Mike McDonald) has been known to have one ready at first asking. BELMONT PARK Race #4 at 2:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (READY IN THE MORN) - Easy win last out in his 2nd back off a 2 month break. Distance is fine, level is correct, and he's in great shape. The horse to beat. 2nd pick: #2 (Arrrr) - Drops a bit more and he'll race well below the claimed price of three back. Stalker finds a nice spot and he should offer a square price. 3rd pick: #1 (Sumphin) - The speed of the party and he resides on the rail. No mystery here as he'll sprint clear early and try and slow it down. May hang on for the exotics. 4th pick: #3 (Brookhaven's Money) - Drops after a pair of even efforts against tougher at this distance. Class relief should have him in this, and he has a nice late kick to call upon. SANTA ANITA Race #1 at 3:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (BERTIE BOY) - Drops in half for this attempt after a fine try at Del Mar at this distance on Sep.1st. Goes 3rd off a 2 month layoff for the Hess barn and he appears to be nearing his best. 2nd pick: #3 (Tour Da Bronx) - Also goes 3rd off a rest and drops for this. Stalker is in a good spot and he's on an equal par with the top pick. 3rd pick: #5 (The Supply Program) - Makes his 2nd start off a Mitchell claim and he ran a big race in his first for the new barn. Experienced runner looks set for his best. BELMONT PARK Race #6 at 3:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (KARAKORUM ELEKTRA) - Big efforts in all three of her "08" races and she has faced tough fields of colts in her last pair. In great shape, she's 3 for 8 on this course, and she'll move back in with her own sex. Very tough to beat. 2nd pick: #2 (Acquired Cat) - Shortens up after a solid 2nd place finish against 35K foes here on Sep. 18th. Professional turf runner likes to race about mid-pack and she should make her presence felt down the lane. 3rd pick: #3 (Privately Approved) - Shipper is a professional grass sprinter (19-4-5-2)and resides in a sharp barn (Pete Bazeos). Exotics factor from close-range. 4th pick: #8 (Waytotheleft) - Likes the turf sprinting game (7-2-3-1) and enters this off a 7 week break. She's improved big time since a Gary Contessa claim, but veteran mare will need a clear trip to contend. 5th pick: #9 (Princess Westly) - Late-footed runner will need some pace help and a clear trip to have a chance. Exotics possibility with a late run, but this 6-furlong distance may be too short for her. SANTA ANITA Race #4 at 5:05 PM Eastern Top pick: #7 (LAUNCH THE BULL) - Colt by "Holy Bull" has been coming around and in his latest he rated a bit before finishing well to miss by just a bit more than a length. Moves to the turf and his breeding suggests that it will not be a problem. The choice for the win. 2nd pick: #1 (Regal Coyote) - Was a bit rank in his turf debut, but he settled late and made up some ground late to finish 5th. Effort was solid and he should improve today. 3rd pick: #3 (Doggie Bear) - Rallied from far back at Fairplex last out to finish a distant 2nd, but well clear of the 3rd finisher. Nice drills since that race and he'll move to the turf for the first time. 4th pick: #5 (Take From The Rich) - Firster has some good works on view and he's in the barn of "Hall of Fame" trainer Bob Frankel. Irish-reared colt is bred top and bottom for the grass. ![]() Horse Racing Picks Resources:
