BELMONT Race #1 at 1:00 PM Eastern

Top pick: #2 (PELELIU) - Dangerous speed from inside post. Game win Sept. 17, off the claim at this level. Should have no problem carrying her speed an extra furlong.

2nd pick: #4 (Seventeen Love) - Closed well for second to top selection in last start. Really improved dropping down to this level for the first time.

3rd pick: #8 (Pinfree) - Switches from grass to dirt which is clearly her preferred surface. Makes second start off the layoff for very crafty connections.

4th pick: #1a (MY LUCKEY PENNEY) - Another going grass to dirt in very sharp form. Gets an expected lively pace to close into.

Top pick: #4 (P . J' s CANARY) - Sharp and improving Louisiana Down shipper is well spotted drop back into a claimer and switching to dirt. Handled dirt in her debut. Good tactical speed. Strong barn.

2nd pick: #7 (Saint Brigid) - Fine effort in debut. Goes grass to dirt, which she is bred to handle. Drop into a claimer for the first time is a strong angle.

3rd pick: #10 (Disconsolate) - Ships in from Arlington in sharp and consistent form. Excuses in last two starts. Acts like she handle stretch out to seven furlongs.

Top pick: #7 (STRATOSTAR (Best Bet on day)) - Strong second Sept. 13, back on polytrack. Nearly overcame a very slow pace. Stretches out. One for one at today's 1 1/4 mile distance. Red hot trainer.

2nd pick: #5 (Bagoga) - Back on dirt which he prefers. Dangerous speed stretching out in distance. Loves to win. Sharp trainer goes to his main go to rider.

3rd pick: #3 (Twisting Road) - Goes grass to dirt shipping in from Arlington for top connections. Has handled polytrack in the past. Gets E T Baird who has won with five of this trainers 10 mounts (50%).

4th pick: #2 (Tony Terrific) - Trainer change in from Arlington. Has no speed but rallies strong late.

Top pick: #8 (HOLLYWOOD CLASSIC) - Makes first start for top claiming trainer off the claim for an owner he loves to win for. Takes a realistic, slight drop in class. Has good tactical speed. Switches to a rider he loves to use.

2nd pick: #1 (Ms. Freightshaker) - I like either part of the DePrima entry. "Ms. Freight" makes first start for barn off the claim. Returns off a freshening, which is a strong angle for this barn. "MateWildbutable" gets a trainer change. Will be closing late.

3rd pick: #4 (Point Me To It) - Properly spotted shipping in from Finger Lakes for solid conditioner. Brings his stable rider in. Has run well over this course in the past.

4th pick: #5 (Wild Holly) - Consistent mare is freshened up for this. Goes turf to dirt, which is her preferred surface. Loves today's distance.
