Horse Racing Entry - October 09, 2007

Winners from two races yesterday including a $76 trifecta win from Belmont Park race No. 10. Overall we accounted for $117.60

Over the next two days, Belmont Park and Santa Anita will be closed, so today we will have selections and analysis on four races from Delaware Park and Meadowlands Race Track.

Today's Best Bets are the Todd Pletcher trained entry #'s 1 and 1A (Kromium Kop and Tanganyika) in Race #8 at Meadowlands Race Track.

Additional Note: Selections in Races #6 and #8 at the Meadowlands are for TURF ONLY!

Monday's Results: Belmont Park Race #2 Top Pick Winner #2 (Let's Fly away) Paid $5.60. Exacta Top Pick with third pick (4-8) Paid $19

Belmont Race #10 Exacta 2nd pick with best bet (9-7) Paid $17. Trifecta (9-7-12) Paid $76.

Belmont Park Race #6 Top Pick #9 (In P.A'S Honour) scratched.

Today's Horse Racing Picks:

DELAWARE PARK Race #FOUR (2:05 PM Eastern)

(# 6) ICOULDWRITEABOOK - Chased a wire-to-wire winner in last and continued gamely to finish second. Has a win and two second-place finishes since trainer Tim Hooper claimed her. Needs to stay within range of the speed.
(# 2) Queen Hennessy K C - Goes third off a layoff, and drops in class. Filly showed speed over the poly surface at Presque Isle, and this is a good spot for her return to conventional dirt. Trainer James Lawrence is a sharp operator.
(# 4) I'magoldengirl - Goes second off a two-month freshening. Was well placed in the retutn race, but came up empty. The top pick defeated her by seven lengths in that one.
(# 7) Majestic Mountain - No speed on view and she caught a weak bunch to notch win number two in last. Needs to pick it up a bit and stay within range.

MEADOWLANDS Race #SIX (3:05 PM Eastern)
(# 6) ELIZABUL - Productive runner was claimed out of his last by Jason Servis. New trainer is an incredible 44% first off the claim. Gelding enters this in good form and will be cutting back in distance for this. Good shot at a square price.
(# 4) Mighty Beau - Goes second off the Lake claim at Arlington. Was in position in last, but ran evenly the second part of the race. He's a professional at turf sprints(43-6-12-5).
(# 3) Falcon's Peak - Good speed and goes first off the Jacobsen claim. However all of his success is on the dirt, with an 0-for-3 record on grass. Showed high speed in his last turf appearance.
(#'s 2 and 7) Silver Moose and Max West - Would use this pair in small exacta boxes with the top selection.

DELAWARE PARK Race #SEVEN (3:25 PM Eastern)
(# 4) MAGICAL GEM - Capable of a really big race now and then. Best ever was two back, and last out tried a very tough restricted stakes. Has speed and is in shape. Resides in the Lake barn, and they have been on a roll for the past month.
(# 7) Eternal Star - Makes his first appearance since last August when he was two. When last seen, he was winning a stakes race in handy fashion. Working incredibly fast for the past two months, he will be a handful if ready to show his best.
(# 6) Liger - Has the ability to close some ground in a sprint. Sent longer in last, which should set him up well for the cutback.
(# 3) Finally Satisfied - Last two at Philly Park are excellent, and he may get a good pace scenario to help his late kick.

MEADOWLANDS Race #EIGHT (3:55 PM Eastern)
(#'s 1 and !A) KROMIUM KOP and TANGANYIKA - We'll take either one of these Todd Pletcher runners as our selection. Both have run well on the grass, with "Kromium Kop" getting beaten by Future stakes winner "Gio Ponti" in his only race. We like him more than "Tanganyika," but we'll take either one, but preferably both.
(# 8) White Holiday - Not much speed to speak of, but he has shown late interest and the ability to pass other horses.
(# 7) Trippin Up - Good effort in first turf attempt from a poor post(12). Stayed on well after setting/pressing the pace the whole race. Repeat performance makes him tough.
(# 3) Harlequin Sky - Tries turf for the first time and draws the hedge. Good try in a two-turn race on dirt last out, and he has worked well since.
