Freshened up with a series of good works. Can sit a good stalking trip getting a positive rider change. (# 9) Shaky Town - Back on dirt which is his preferred surface. Improved effort two back off a big trainer change. Draws a good post. (# 3) Pay Attention - The question is how he will respond off a negative trainer change. Must consider anyway because he has been in very good form and likes both track and distance. BELMONT PARK Race #Seven (4:05 PM Eastern) (# 7) ALRIGHT NOW - Returned from a prolonged absence at Saratoga this summer, and was immediately saddled with a tough task off the shelf. He drew an outside post that day, but still managed to show improved speed from post 12. He held reasonably well all things considered, chasing a quicker/fitter and experienced rival into the stretch and finished fourth. He moves inside today, and returns to Belmont Park, the sight of his lone career win. His workout lines leading up to his comeback effort in August were not that inspiring, but he certainly has picked up the pace for Dutrow since, firing a bullet move at five furlongs on Sept. 20. He will, in all likelihood, revert to rating tactics today, which should mirror his winning effort in 2006. (# 6) Estimator - Good second-place finish Sept. 2 holding on well after forcing a pressured quick pace. Responded well to the addition of blinkers. Should sit a good trip here. (# 2) Mockingbird Lane - Gets tested for class today shipping in from Praire Meadows. The positive is that he is making his first start with New York breds. BELMONT Race #Eight (4:40 PM Eastern) (# 5) THRU N' THRU - Simply whistled in her turf debut at Del Mar for Baffert. She literally gave no one a chance that day, gaining a daylight lead at once and improving her position from there. Before heading East, she worked a remarkable five-furlong bullet over the Del Mar Polytrack surface, which gives her a good foundation today stretching out to six furlongs. She continues to sizzle over the Belmont Park main track for her return, indicating another top effort is in the offing. She has the pedigree to excel in turf sprints, and certainly appears capable of carrying her speed in the extra furlong. The presence of Gomez in the saddle is another plus. (# 4) Zaynab - Blinkers off after a tough trip in last. Good third Aug. 15 trying to rally on a speed-favoring turf course. Gets quick pace to close into. (# 2) Queen Amira - Freshened up after having some trouble in last. Overmatched two back. Disliked soft turf three back. Should sit a good mid-pack trip with pace to close into. BELMONT Race #Nine (5:10 PM Eastern) (# 4) SPEAKING OUT - Showed much improved speed adding blinkers and dropping to this level for the first time at Saratoga on August 4. She held extremely well while setting a pressured pace in a swiftly run race. That clearly was a dramatic turnaround which was helped by a good post after drawing post No. 10 in five of her least seven starts. She gets a positive trainer change to Parisella, who took this horse for his main clients. She should continue to demonstrate her new found speed with the hood on, while returning from a freshening. She appears to own a tactical advantage over her main rivals, and has run well over Belmont Park grass courses in the past at longer distances. Cutting back to a flat mile, switching to Coa off the claim should bode well for yet another strong showing. (# 9) Marina Market - Freshened up and takes smart drop in class for hot barn. Deserving favorite but I question the sharp plunge in class. This is an even bigger drop as it's with non winners of two lifetime after facing multiple winners. (# 2) Any Minute Now - Set pressured pace in last. Clearly prefers to rate. Consistent form in prior starts at this level. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
