Horse Racing Tip Sheets - November 28, 2008Our Newsletter today will have a total of five races, one from the Fair Grounds and two races each from Aqueduct and Hollywood Park. Today's Best Bet is #5 Satellite in Race #3 at Hollywood Park. Thursday's Results: Fair Grounds Race #7 Top Pick #8 (Gail Golden) $4.20.  Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #3 (GHOST STORY) - New barn (Tony Dutrow) finds a nice spot for this son of "Vindication" as he makes his first start against winners after scoring in his debut at Calder in early October. Sharp win saw him track the pace and overcome some adversity to prevail. Second and third finishers from that race returned to win next out. Dutrow is an impressive 32% with his new arrivals. 2nd pick: #6 (Meetmeatthechapel) - Scored going two-turns last out at the Meadowlands to break his maiden. Race was his first in seven weeks, and he's had six weeks since that effort. Seven furlong distance should not pose any problem. Runs for the nation's leading trainer, Steve Asmussen. 3rd pick: #1 (Bad Action) - Claimed out of his maiden win last out by the leading barn (Gary Contessa) at this meet. He's improved in each start and has a strong closing kick. Contessa is 21% first off the claim. 4th pick: #11 (Futurazo) - Longshot brings good speed/stalking ability to the contest and draws a nice cozy slot to utilize. Improving, and he could impact this at a big price. FAIR GROUNDS Race #6 at 3:40 PM Eastern Top pick: #11 (VICK'S VIOLET) - Filly has shown big speed in both of her starts against maiden-specials. Drops into a claimer for the first time and will get to run on conventional dirt after her first pair, one each on turf and poly. Daughter of "El Corredor" is well spotted to pick up the maiden win by a sharp trainer (Ronny Werner). Can stalk and pounce from this outside draw. 2nd pick: #8 (Via Cuvee) - The main foe, also has good speed and has raced against tougher. Last out she set fast fractions and gave way late in a race with a runaway winner. Probable pacesetter is a legitimate win threat. 3rd pick: #9 (Summit Cat) - Debuting daughter of "Storm Boot" has an impressive five-furlong bullet gate drill on November 8. Faces a tough group with the top two selections capable of fast fractions. Filly should be a square price. 4th pick: #6 (Franfreluche Passer) - In-shape filly just missed last out at Retama Park in a maiden-speecial. Those races are generally pretty weak, so she'll need to step it up a bit here to contend. AQUEDUCT Race #8 (THE TOP FLIGHT H. (G2)) at 3:45 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (SLEWFOUNDMONEY) - Calder shipper has become a bit of a terror since coming to the barn of Marty Wolfson. She's won stakes both sprinting and going long for the high percentage trainer (33%), so this "flat" mile distance should be fine with her. Daughter of "Seeking the Gold" has four straight bullet works before shipping and will be tough to beat. 2nd pick: #2 (Any Limit) - Speedy veteran was absolutely on top of her game at Saratoga with a devastating win in the "Honourable Miss" S. (G2) on August 1. Tried "poly" at Keeneland on October 4, but she never got un-tracked and tired down the stretch. Working well for her return, she's a stakes winner on this course, at this distance. Very dangerous. 3rd pick: #7 (Boca Grande) - Strong finisher will need a fast/contested pace to have a chance with her long one-run charge. She's a bit of a mile specialist (4-3-0-0) and daughter of "A.P.Indy" is two for two on this course. 4th pick: #1 (Leah's Secret) - Veteran is coming off a stakes win (The Chilukki(G2) at this flat mile distance at Churchill. She had a nice cozy outside post that day and faces a much more difficult trip here with the rail draw. She needs a sharp ride. HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #2 at 4:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #8 (LEAVETHEGATEOPEN) - Claimed two back by trainer John Sadler, he immediately raised him to Cal-bred maiden special and he just failed to last after setting all the pace. Finds a field light on experience and should get the job done. One of a pair entered by the trainer and they'll race uncoupled. 2nd pick: #1 (Star Redeemer) - Here's the other Sadler runner and he completes a very strong hand for the trainer. Finished a nose behind his barn-mate last out and he could easily reverse that small margin today. 3rd pick: #2 (Rise Above) - Son of "Siberian Summer" has finished third in his last pair and will be cutting back in distance off of a trio of longer contests. Exotic's possibility. 4th pick: #4 (Beauteous Maximus) - He's finished close-up in his last three without threatening. Top pair handled him last out, but he could offer some value if you're playing tris and or supers. Blinkers will be added today. HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #3 at 4:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #5 (SATELLITE) - Speed/stalker has proved very competitive since he's come down to under $15,000 in claiming price. Level is fine and there's not much speed signed on, so expect him to be involved in the pace. The choice for the win. 2nd pick: #7 (Brooker) - Field's question mark will be coming back off a claim and a subsequent two month layoff for the Ted West barn. More than capable against this caliber, and he's dangerous if ready to go. 3rd pick: #1 (Kingsburg) - Rail draw should allow for a comfortable stalking trip as that is his style.
