Today's Horse Racing Picks:

AQUEDUCT Race #6 at 2:45 PM Eastern

Top pick: #1 (RED COGNAC) - Sharp maiden score on October 30th for this $300,000 daughter of "Hennessy". Filly battled for the lead facing outside pressure and drew away once clear. Draws the rail, which she also had last time. The choice for the win.
2nd pick: #2 (Akilina) - Filly has been freshened-up for the past two months after having a busy 4 race campaign during the summer months. She has good tactical speed and has proven competitive in all of her starts.
3rd pick: #6 (High Cry) - At first look she would appear to be a toss, but daughter of "Street Cry*" has ability and is working well for trainer Todd Pletcher. Can impact this at a big price.
4th pick: #5 (Rosie's Run) - Impressive maiden score on the Belmont lawn when veteran trainer Kate DeMasi shipped runner in for her debut after being prepared at her home-base of Philly Park. Moves to the main-track for her first try against winners. Filly continues to do good a.m. work.

AQUEDUCT Race #8 (THE STAR DE LADY ANNE) at 3:40 PM Eastern
Top pick: #6 (IDIDNTMEANTO) - Daughter of "Fusaichi Pegasus" has moved to a "new level" since coming to the barn of Richard Dutrow. Lightly raced the past season, she was stakes placed twice during her two-year-old campaign. Speed/stalker is taken to make it three-in-a-row today. Only negative is, she's never raced on an "off" track.
2nd pick: #4 (A Rose For You) - Appears to be at her "peak" at this point in the year. Early fall arrival to the barn of Mike Trombetta, she's coming into this off a pair of wins against lesser at Delaware Park. Can win on the front-end or from a stalking position. Could sneak away at square odds.
3rd pick: #2 (Honest to Betsy) - She must thrive on racing as a pretty "conservative" barn (Dale Romans) has started her 14 times since early in the summer of "07". Makes her 3rd start back off a two month break and she'll be in the final mix.
4th pick: #3 (Ready For Fortune) - Stakes winner and she's placed in several other graded events. Filly raced evenly last out in her first back fro a 7 week freshening. Top pick defeated her by almost 5 lengths in that contest, but this filly should move forward some off that return run.

HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #2 at 4:00 PM Eastern
Top pick: #5 (NOBLE COURAGE) - Colt will be making his 3rd start back from a 7 month layoff and he ran a strong 2nd last out in his best effort to date. Drops a peg and draws outside the other speed. Very tough to defeat.
2nd pick: #1 (Standing Posse) - Away slowly in his latest, he rushed up early and held well until the end. Top pick only defeated him by 2 lengths in that race. Working well and an "alert" start is a must.
3rd pick: #4 (Taleitlikeitaint) - Returns from a 3 1/2 month layoff and his first go-round at this game. Raced evenly against better in his series of 4 races, and he's working well for this start. Runs today in a career "soft" spot.
4th pick: #3 (Delicato) - Another who is returning from a short break (2 1/2 months) and he's already been competitive once on this "cushion-track" surface. Needs a career best for a shot at the win.

HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #3 at 4:30 PM Eastern
Top pick: #8 (GRAY BLACK N WHITE) - Veteran was claimed two back by the powerful Jeff Mullin's operation. He raced him against tougher on the turf last out and he pressed a fast pace before tiring late. Moves back to "cushion-track" where he raced well last spring and also drops back to the claimed level. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Moves Like a Cat) - Lightly raced and speedy, colt draws the rail for his 3rd start back off a 2 month layoff. Very fast early and the inside has been good at this meet. Must be caught.
3rd pick: #9 (Held Up) - Stalker has been very consistent anytime he's run around this tag. Owns a fine local slate (4-2-1-1) and he should get a fast/contested pace to rally into.
4th pick: #2 (Colonel Courtney) - Veteran has always ben a steady, hard-hitting performer. However he's 18 for 57 on real dirt, 0 for 1 on the grass, and 0 for 12 on SYNTHETICS. Could hit the bottom of the exotics.

HOLLYWOOD PARK Race #8 at 7:05 PM Eastern
Top pick: #1 (CANDY ARCHES) - Raced off to a huge early lead in his last only to tire in the last 1/8 of a mile and eventually finished 3rd. Effort was his first in blinkers and also his first on the turf. May be much more relaxed today with the initial turf experience behind him.
2nd pick: #4 (Joking Sam) - Freshened-up for the past two months by trainer Bob Baffert. Colt ran his best race last out, finishing 2nd in his first appearance on the grass. Working sharply and he's a win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Top Feeling) - Colt will move to the grass and attempt a distance, both for the first time. Raced evenly in his debut and he'll get blinkers on today. Could improve enough to "hit the board" at a big price.
4th pick: #9 (El Chubasco) - "Off-slowly" in both of his start, he made up a lot of ground last out to finish 2nd. Moves to the grass for the first time and he's a late threat.
5th pick: #8 (Hiho Geronimo) - Bred for the turf, son of "Indian Charlie" raced evenly sprinting on that surface in his debut. Had positional speed that day and could improve as he stretches-out in distance today.
