Horse Racing Cheat - November 26, 2007Today we'll turn our attention to four races from Calder. A reminder that on Wed. and Thurs. we will include as our extra race, a night event from Turfway Park. Today's Best Bet is #8 Florida Straits in Race #1 at Calder. Sunday's Results: Aqueduct Race #4 Top pick Winner #9 (Miss Stonestreet) Paid $11.20.Aqueduct Race #8 Best Bet Winner #3 (Ice Cool Kitty) Paid $3.30. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 8) FLORIDA STRAITS - Moves outside after breaking from the rail in last pair. Had to run hard early to keep up. Outside draw is a big plus as it gives the jockey some options. Can rate off the top and pounce. Fits snuggly with these. (# 2) Lady Lori - Strong second in latest when dropped to this level and sent long. Had trouble but still ran well. Shortens up for this, but it's more important that this tag seems to fit. (# 6) Twas a Dream - Getting better with each start she has two strong recent efforts to her credit. Cuts back to seven panels from a mile today. Improving and fit. (# 3) She's So Silk - Has run well in her last three with the addition of Lasix. Cuts back off a two-turn race, which was her best to date. Hard to keep her out of the picture. CALDER Race #TWO (12:50 PM Eastern) (# 7) FLEETONE - Much improved effort in last as he was on the lead going longer from an outside post. Drops back to seven panels for this, and draws a good post for use of his speed. (# 2) Indy Connection - Put it together in last out at this level and distance. Was involved from the start and stayed on well to finish second. Speed threat from on or just off the pace. (# 9) Cookson - Drops off of last pair where he ran poorly. "Won" a race three back but was disqualified. Drops in value and shortens up in distance. (# 6) First Prince - His races at this distance are his best efforts in a busy juvenile season. Late kick should have him somewhere in it. CALDER Race #EIGHT (3:40 PM Eastern) (# 4) LADY RENAISSANCE - Chris Clement runner was a little off in last at Belmont, her first race since mid-July. Has kept good company since coming to the states. Working well for second off the bench, and she should rebound today. (# 3) Foret - Fields speediest runner makes her grass debut today. Highly thought of at one time, she may still turn into a very good runner. Wire-to-wire threat. (# 1) More Than a Feelin - Todd Pletcher trainee had a very poor post in last at the Meadowlands. Had to drop back at the start and never could get involved although she wasn't beaten by much. Hedge draw is a big plus. (# 9) Survivacat - Had the benefit of the inside post in last and it helped her to a second-place finish. Moves outside today and she'll have to rally from farther back today. Shot at a minor award. CALDER Race #TEN (4:30 PM Eastern) (# 5) BLUE WITCH - Drops back to one turn after running a fine second from a poor post(9). Improving sort, has gotten better after three troubled starts to begin her career. Nice spot for her diploma. (# 1) Pura - Nice run in latest, her third off a layoff. Race was her best ever, and she should improve even more today. Seven-furlong distance appears just right. (# 4) Cricket Miss - Halves in value today after a pair of starts against better, one sprinting and one going long. Should go much better today. (# 8) Changeinthe Course - Well backed in both starts but has broken poorly in both attempts. Move outside can help, as she won't be surrounded by other horses. Decent work since last race.
