Handicapping - November 25, 2007

Turfway Park in Kentucky opens this afternoon and we will have selections and analysis on three of their races plus two from Aqueduct.

Today's Best Bet is #3 Ice Cool Kitty in Race #8 at Aqueduct.

Today's Horse Racing Picks:

AQUEDUCT Race #FOUR (1:45 PM Eastern)

(# 9) MISS STONESTREET - Stretches out off of three sprint tries for Steve Asmussen. Hasn't raced in seven weeks and she should be bigger and stronger now. Good post to stalk from.

(# 5) Kobla Road - Lasix is applied to filly today and that is a very strong move for the Jimmy Jerkens barn (33%). Had some traffic problems in debut. A mile should be just about right.

(# 2) Matchless Orinda - Improving miss from the Todd Pletcher barn. Has moved forward in each of her three outings. Has speed and a stalking gear. Might be overbet a bit.

(# 3) Little Belle - Made a nice late run in debut in October. Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin is one of the best second time out (33%).

(# 3) ICE COOL KITTY - Two-for-two over this dirt surface. Last time mare tackled this two-turn nine-furlong distance, she ran her best race of the season at Saratoga. Has a series of strong drills over this track for this stakes.

(# 9) One In a Romp - Accomplished on the grass, but her last pair of dirt races indicate that she can handle that surface. Distance is no problem for her.

(# 2) Mama Theresa - Speed nearest the rail, and she's coming off of a pair of sprints. Will insure a fast and possibly contested pace.

(# 1) Lauren's Tizzy - Nice win at Saratoga at this distance on Aug. 1. Has tailed off since, but is working well for this. Filly is two-for-two over this surface.

(# 2) OVER UNDER - Has some speed, and draws a good post for use of it. Makes her first back-to-back starts for trainer Dallas Stewart, and is a win threat on the top end.

(# 5) Whitefish - Just missed in last at Churchill, finishing third, beaten by a head. Will be on or just off the lead and very tough to defeat.

(# 9) La Peregrina - Hasn't raced since last November when she showed some speed. Working o.k., but bottom of exotics is where she belongs.

(# 11) Daylatedollarshort - Had a wide journey in latest at Churchill. Goes third off a layoff for trainer Mike Maker. Has a good work heading into this.

(# 2) SILVER EXPRESS - Classy runner switched barns recently, as he is now in Helen Pitt's stable. Nice first effort at Keeneland for new connections. Should get some pace to rally into.

(# 12) Treasure Hunter - Wayne Lukas runner has plenty of speed and goes third off a layoff. Poor post may force him to try and clear early. Think he can.

(# 4) Red Alert - Claimed by Rick Hiles from Cody Autry last out. Race was horse's best ever. In a limited sampling, new trainer is three-for-six with his new acquisitions. Can rate and pounce.

(# 3) Twisting Road - Looks like he is beginning an upward spiral for trainer Rebecca Maker. Son of "Giant's Causeway" has a pair of recent wins on artificial surfaces, at Arlington and Presque Isle.

(# 5) TIZ MY DREAM - Has a pair of strong efforts at Keeneland after coming back from an April layoff. Was just off the top in that pair, but came up a bit short after bidding turning for home.

(# 11) Gilded Memory - Filly by "Gilded Time" has a pair of good return races at this claiming tag. Last was particularly good in a seven-furlong race at Keeneland. Has some speed and should be just off the lead down the backstretch.

(# 12) Summer Shower - Drops into a claimer for the first time. Trainer Wayne Mogge has good numbers with that move (22%). Needs to avoid a wide trip.

(# 8) Tizmeanttobe - Has switched to the Paul McGee barn since his last race at Arlington in late August. Drops a peg and is working well for the return.

(# 10) Siddhartha - Stretches out off of three sprints. Ran well at two-turns at Mountaineer park in June. Shot at the exotics.
