Horse Racing Picks - November 23, 2007Today we have selections and analysis on five races from Aqueduct and the Fair Grounds. Yesterday turned in a great day of results highlighted by an exacta hit on Aqueduct's race No. 6 (5-12) good for $264. Please see full Turkey Day results below. Today's Best Bet is #1 Dr. Feelgood in Race #3 at the Fair Grounds. Thursday's Results: Aqueduct Race #2 Top Pick Winner #6 (Rule Seventy Six) Paid $5.50. Aqueduct Race #6 Exacta (1-8) Paid $264.
Fair Grounds Race #2 Exacta (5-12) Paid $21.
Fair Grounds Race #3 Exacta (6-1) Paid $8. ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 5) ALEXANDROS - Wide run in last in a race dominated by the top two finishers. Appears to have some talent and has a pair of sharp works since the last run. Luzzi was aboard in his best effort and is back aloft today. (# 4) Raynicks Cat - Ran well in sloppy track debut after race was switched off the grass. Bet heavily that day, he has had a month off to regroup. Sire is one of the best with his young progeny. (# 7) Prince Dubai - Well backed in both, he ran on well for second place in latest despite a poor start. Has to try and get involved a bit earlier. (# 6) Psychotic Summer - Goes second off a layoff and also gets blinkers removed for this. Return effort was poor but he showed enough previously that he has a shot in this field. AQUEDUCT Race #THREE (1:20 PM Eastern) (# 7) SHE'S ACHANCE - Good effort in last at Delaware off a two-month layoff. Just missed the win in a race where she waited and bid. That strategy looks to be the way to go in here. Trainer Trombetta is having an outstanding year wherever he races. Filly worked sharply at homebase of Laurel for this contest. (# 4) Sister Desiree - Sharp win in last for the Maggi Moss/Bruce Levine connection. Win came second off the claim and filly fits very well with this group. Sharp outfit can have runners stay on a roll for a while. (# 2) Delta Breeze - Runner cuts back in distance after running in routes and middle-distance races for most of her career. Should get some nice pace to close. (# 8) Carolina Fuego - Freshened up a bit after not having a break for many months. Finished second two back in a stake at Delaware to a good runner in "Adorable Jane." Blinkers go on and filly draws a good post. FAIR GROUNDS Race #THREE (2:35 PM Eastern) (# 1) DR. FEELGOOD - Halves in value for Tom Tomillo and that should make all the difference. Has run well for $10K all year, and drop should allow him to be closer as they hit the far turn and run them down late. (# 3) Pester Power - Probable pace setter wired a field of $5K foes at Louisiana Downs two back. All-or-nothing on the lead type may find himself alone and loose today. (# 7) L'Grande d'Oro - Appears to be a bit of an in-and-outer, and if that's the case he's due for a good run. Has a trio of nice drills coming into this. Last win was for this tag. (# 6) Elegant Legacy - Has been in for three months of rehab since his last race. Has some tactical speed if ready to run and that commodity is lacking in this contest. FAIR GROUNDS Race #FOUR (3:05 PM Eastern) (# 1) STEW'S STONE - Speed on the rail and he has been at his best when below the $10K claiming price like he is today. Has good numbers and fits snuggly here. Dangerous from on or just off the lead from start to finish. (# 5) Talega Creek - Deep closer finished second in last over Keeneland's poly surface. Proven on conventional dirt it's hard to imagine him not running well here. (# 4) El Salsero - Drops in half today for John Barger, and gelding has run well at this level this season. (# 2) Risky Weather - Very consistent runner in and around this claiming price. Has enough speed to stay close and could impact down the lane. AQUEDUCT Race #SEVEN (3:15 PM Eastern) (# 10) RACELAND - Scratched out of a race last Sunday when he was entered in a mile race with a lot of speedsters. Draws a great post for the one-turn mile and has a good shot at taking them all the way. (# 3) Wild Vicar - Veteran has a good record over this surface (9-2-2-2), and has four wins at this distance. Contessa runner appears to be heading into an upward spiral. (# 8) Lorccan - Beat softer in last pair, but is clearly an improved animal since moving into the Mike hushion barn. Won at this track and distance last out. (# 9) Wing Man - Goes back for another go after being away from the races since late March. Consistent hard-hitting veteran has been in training since early October. May need one. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
