Betting Horse Line Racing - November 17, 2007Today we're going to mix it up a bit and add Hawthorne to our plays, giving us a total of five races which include two from Aqueduct, and three from the Cicero, Ilinois facility. Yesterday we hit the exacta (6-1) and trifecta (6-1-8) for a total of $465.50 from Aqueduct race No. 1. Today's Best Bet is #1 Suave Dottie M. in race # 1 at Hawthorne. Friday's Results: Aqueduct Race #1 Exacta: (6-1) Paid $80. Trifecta (6-1-8) Paid $385.50
Churchill Downs Race #9 2nd with top (4-3) Paid $35. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 1) ASTORIA SWEETHEART - Has been given a two-month freshening by Richard Dutrow, and most of the time that generally moves them forward in performance. Has some speed, but has also stalked and run well. Good post for either strategy. (# 4) New York Citi - Drops into a claimer for the first time. Ran horribly in last, but has come back with a very sharp work since. May be best to forgive her the latest try. (# 8) My Dear Maud - Drops back into a claimer and also switches surfaces for this. Good post for stalking tactics and may offer a very square price. (# 10) Royal Digs - Poor getaway in return from a year's layoff. Has a pair of sharp works at homebase of Fair Hill in Maryland, and may run well from the outside slot. HAWTHORNE Race #ONE (2:35 PM Eastern) (# 1) SUAVE DOTTIE M. - Mare is with her fifth trainer since coming back in early June. Has only a single unacceptable performance this season. New trainer(Kelly Ackerman) has had an outstanding year (38 for 136). Filly is two-for-two over this track and could improve some more. (# 4) Twinpost - Another who was claimed last out. Very consistent and proven over this surface and at this price tag. New trainer (Hector Magana) is 15% with his new buys. (# 3) Birdie on the Green - Goes third off a layoff for trainer Mike Campbell. Successful against better earlier this year, this is a new low price tag for her. Needs to move forward a bit. (# 5) Dr. Nicole - Should receive a good stalking trip from this post. Competitive at this tag in last pair. Three of her four lifetime wins are over this surface. AQUEDUCT Race #SEVEN (3:15 PM Eastern) (# 6) BAYOU TIMBER - Chased in the slop last out and hung on to finish third. Previous mile run at Belmont would be good enough to get the job done. Trainer George Weaver reaches out to Edgar Prado today. (# 7) Citifest - Good effort to finish second in last over this surface. In shape runner has been very reliable for almost a whole year now. No reason to think he won't run well again. (# 8) Run With the Lark - Will certainly be part of the pace, and probably will be in front. Moves off the inside which can only help his performance. Has been successful at middle distances in the past. (# 9) Platinum Couple - Veteran ran deceptively well in last, a turf race here, from a very poor post (11). Has had a trio of races since coming back from a six-month layoff and appears to be headed in the right direction. HAWTHORNE Race #THREE (3:30 PM Eastern) (# 7) CAMARADERIE - Well bet in last and colt was in a position from a poor post (11) to do some damage, but bled during the running. Trainer Brian Williamson adds Lasix today, and that combined with his fine early speed should do the trick. (# 2) Crap Shoot - One of a pair from trainer Steve Asmussen and they will race uncoupled. This gelding cuts back to a sprint after being sent long in last. Goes second time Lasix today. (# 5) U Dream It U Do It - Poor getaway in debut from the rail sealed his fate. To his credit, he continued on well to finish sixth. Escapes the rail and normal improvement should put him in this. (# 4) Zulu Magic - The second of the Asmussen runners. He makes his career debut today. Has several decent drills to his credit, and trainer is a solid 20% with first time starters. HAWTHORNE Race #NINE (6:20 PM Eastern) (# 5) WILLY WOMPUS - A pair of poor starts has hindered his ability to perform well in his last two races. Capable against this caliber and the cutback from a distance should have him fit. Needs a clear break and he'll be tough. (# 12) Spender - Sharp win for the Maggi Moss/Chris Richard combination when dropped last out. Late runner may need to try and get involved earlier in here against a better group than he beat in latest. (# 2) Luga - Suspicious drop by trainer Mike Reavis, as he has run well against tougher this year. Has speed and is fresh off a four-month layoff. Very dangerous challenger to the top two. (# 8) Bit of a Chap - One of a pair from trainer Tom Tomillo and they will race uncoupled. Goes second off a two-month layoff. Stopped badly in last after showing a hint of speed. Possible move forward today. (# 7) Gino Masetti - The second of the Tomillo runners, he appears to be racing himself back into shape. Kept much better company earlier this year, and ha should be in the mix turning for home. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
