Horse Racing Form - November 02, 2007With the time change this weekend we'll be including races from the West Coast again in our daily selections, and continue for the foreseeable future. Today all four are from the Big A. Today's Best Bet is #7 Papa's Kara in Race #5 at Aqueduct. Thursday's Results: Aqueduct Race #3 Top Pick Winner #4 (C.P. West) Paid $3.80.
Aqueduct Race #8 Top Pick Winner #3 (Bribon) Paid $5.60. ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 6) NICELY PUT - Jackson/Contessa runner gets blinkers on and retains Coa. Has run into some quick ones along the way, and she should be ready to show her best today. Race is her second back off a seven-week layoff. (# 1) Farri H. - Improving a little with each start. Drops a tad in price today, and should receive a good trip from her No. 2 post. (# 2) Fiddler's Fever - Blinkers go on for start number three for the Hennig barn. Attracted Johnny V. in both runs, so there may be some talent here. Rail has been a plus recently. (# 5) Moo Shu Baby - Wide trip in initial run for daughter of "Buddha." Goes second time out for the Bush operation. Should improve in start number two. AQUEDUCT Race #THREE (1:55 PM Eastern) (# 5) SHTARKER - Over the years Allen Jerkens has been one of the best at stretching horses out in distance. Son of "Dynaformer" is bred to go long, and he improved quite a bit in start two when moved to the main track. (# 3) Greenwood Boy - Possible speed of the party, he has two-turn experience at Delaware, and has been working very sharply for the past month. (# 1) Numaany - Son of "A.P.Indy" should relish the extra real estate. Addition of Lasix by trainer Albertrani for the stretch-out attempt is a good sign. (# 2) Baystreet Bully - Goes from turf to dirt and gets blinkers on for Hall of Famer Leroy Jolley. Should be fit with a trio of starts, and the rail going two-turns is always a good thing. AQUEDUCT Race #FOUR (2:25 PM Eastern) (# 10) ALWAJEEHA - Excellent debut run sprinting on the Belmont turf. Good late move to just miss the board. Stretches out today and Castro keeps the faith. That sprint should have him set up perfectly. (# 5) My O'Trebor - From one of the best turf trainers around (Toner). Great work on the sod at Saratoga on August 31. Had an introductory race on the dirt, now goes to the infield. Garcia sticks, and he has won four of trainer's 11 wins this year. (# 4) Zegarra - Scratched Wednesday to await this spot. Overmatched in a stakes last out, her previous run at this level was fine. Coa takes the reins. (# 11) Magnificent Truth - Needs a scratch to compete, but if allowed to run would certainly impact this race, as she would be the speed of the contest. (# 3) Morninginspiration - Stayed in an off-the-turf affair in last, and that's always a good thing, as she now has a race under her belt. Bred for the grass, she attracts Cornelio for the initial infield run. Has the important hedge. AQUEDUCT Race #FIVE (2:50 PM Eastern) (# 7) PAPA'S KARA - Looks like the controlling speed from her outside post in this flat-mile affair. Working very well for her first race in almost two months, and she has a class and tactical edge. (# 4) Against the Grain - Good overall record and think that the race suits her style today. Should be just off the pace and make a race of it around the turn. (# 3) Visual Candy - Hasn't been on the main track since May. Ran well on the inner surface last winter, and she should be fit for this attempt. (# 6) Morning Gallop - Think that the pace scenario will play against her in this race. She can only be successful if she lags behind and gets a fast pace to close into. Doubt that it will happen. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
