Horse Racing Cheat - June 28, 2008We have some comments in the Dog Pound below as to some drug-related racing news that you may or may not have read about. Today we have five races from Belmont and they are in the first five on the card. We don't try and tell you what type of wager to make, but there is an early double and rotating pick-threes beginning with the first race. Today's Best Bet is # 7 Hi Daddy in Race # 2 at Belmont Park. Friday's Results: Belmont Park Race #3 Trifecta Box of the three selections 1-5-4 $61.00. Belmont Park Race #9 Top Pick Winner #3 (Last Boat Home) $8.30. Today's Horse Racing Picks: ( # 8) THUNDER ALLEY - Claimed by the Asmussen barn from Bill Mott in late March. He broke his maiden in his first start for the new connections on April 20. Gelding ran evenly at Churchill for $50,000 in his first start against winners. Drops in half today and looks well setup by the trainer. (# 7) Big Motor - Comes here by way of Northern California where he has a good record on the grass (5-1-2-1) and has run well at this distance. He couldn't be in a better barn for new success, as Tony Dutrow wins at 31% with new stock to his stable. (# 6) Stolen Greeting - Finished second in his last at seven furlongs on this course for trainer Greg DiPrima. Race was his best since last fall and it came in his third off a layoff. Contender for all the money slots. (# 9) Poker God - Got the maiden win in his last in start No. 11. Race was a switched event and he was up near the pace before taking over and then drew away late. Gelding has hinted at turf ability at times and may have turned the corner. BELMONT PARK Race #TWO (1:30 PM Eastern) (# 7) HI DADDY - Logical contender and probable favorite will be making his third lifetime start today. Bet in his previous pair, he was bumped at the start in his debut and raced between runners in his second race at Keeneland. Working very sharply at Saratoga for this. The seven-furlong distance combined with a cozy spot in the gate can all help him get his picture taken. (# 6) Silver Success - Blinkers and lasix are added today to colt who is making his first start for trainer John Terranova after coming here from Tampa. Colt was well backed at the windows in his debut and showed good speed before tiring very late. (# 4) Obscurity - Raced evenly in his only start at Calder going 5.5 furlongs in late April. Shipped here with the rest of the Mike McDonald barn he has a pair of works and goes today with blinkers. (# 2) Turaath - Firster from the Shadwell people cost a cool $500,000 as a yearling. Son of "Silver Deputy" has some sharp works on view and could be a runner at first asking. BELMONT PARK Race #THREE (2:00 PM Eastern) (# 7) REMARKABLE REMY - This filly has been on the turf since day one of her career. Stakes winner at two had traffic woes in her seasonal debut at Aqueduct, then handily disposed of an optional/$30,000 field in a mile race on this course. Draws a good post to stalk from and can cause a bit of a mild upset. (# 1) I Lost My Choo - Chased all the way in her last to no avail to an easy wire-to-wire winner in the "Sands Point" Stakes on May 31. Steady in her performances, she has worked sharply since and is a major threat. (# 5) Blitzen Too - Lightly-raced and undefeated on the turf (2-for-2). This daughter of "Thunder Gulch" won her seasonal and three-year-old debut going nine furlongs on this course on May 23. Shortens up to a mile and gets a class test today. (# 8) Canadian Ballet - Stakes winner on the dirt at two went wire-to-wire in her grass debut on May 22 going six furlongs. Race was impressive and her type of speed can never be dismissed. Draws a great post for the distance and she'll have to be caught. BELMONT PARK Race #FOUR (2:35 PM Eastern) (# 2) LES ANTIQUES - Hard to go past this runner in this event, as a repeat of either of his last pair would get the job done. Expensive ($1,250,000) son of "Kingmambo" probably was best in his last two, but managed to lose narrowly in both. Should appreciate the large turns here and draws a good post for success. (# 5) Good Request - Son of "Dynaformer" has finished second in his last pair on the turf, one at Santa Anita and the other on this course May 18. He has three sharp works since his last race and is a threat to the top pick. (# 1) Expansion - Draws the hedge and is working well for his first start since late March. Colt by "Marias Mon" finished second at Gulfstream at this nine-furlong distance in his only turf appearance. Now in the care of Seth Benzel he could make an impact at a decent price. (# 6 ) All Together - Son of the great "Danzig" finished strong in his debut at Monmouth to finish a close-up second. Runner had problems at the start and showed ample talent in overcoming that adversity to run well. This distance is well within his range. BELMONT PARK Race #FIVE (3:05 PM Eastern) (# 4) UNDER SERVICED - Impressive allowance win here after shipping from Hollywood Park. Daughter of "Hook and Ladder" is undefeated (2-for-2) and won her last much easier than the final one-length margin. Sharp work since the win and filly should be much fitter after getting her seasonal bow out of the way. (# 2) Jovanna - Consistent filly (7-2-2-2) just picked up her second win last out, defeating a good runner in "Critical Cathy". Can stalk and finish, and she has some quality to her. (# 1) Rizzi's Twist - Freshened up for five weeks by the Levine barn, her latest drill is impressive and she draws the rail. Not often do you get a good price on this barn and that should be today's case. (# 10) Salt City Miss - Filly brings some speed/stalking ability to the contest, but draws a very tough post. She'll have to be used hard early to have a chance as they hit the turn. A contender, but she needs some breaks. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
