![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #5 (UNSTOPPABLE) - Scratched Sunday to await this spot. Runs first off an Enrique Arroyo claim May 23rd and they confidently raise him in price a month later. Capable with his best and in this "deep" field may sneak away at a square price. New trainer wins at a 23% rate with his new claims. 2nd pick: #3 (Lord Snowdon) - Obvious contender brings a stellar overall record and be cutting back in distance after finishing 3rd here May 29th going a mile running for $60K. Mid-pack faces a tough group and will probably be the favorite. Win threat but will need to run hard every step. 3rd pick: #4 (Last Wave) - He's finished strong 2nd's in his last three starts, the last pair at this distance against tougher. Much improved since a trainer switch to Naipaul Chatterpaul and gelding is a win candidate. 4th pick: #1a (Starforaday) - Part of a Gary Contessa trained entry. Working great for his first back off a two month break and draws a nice post. If he can stay close early he has a shot turning for home. BELMONT PARK Race #3 at 2:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #5 (LE GRAND CRU) - Goes turf to dirt and the grass race he's exiting on Belmont Stakes day was a strong one. Son of "Dynaformer was involved in a prolonged pace-duel and held well until late. Looks primed for a big effort by his trainer (H. Allen Jerkens). 2nd pick: #7 (Stevil ) - Returns from Delaware where he finished a close-u- 3rd in his first grass attempt to "Barbaro's" brother "Nicanor". Level and distance are fine and he's won here before. Dangerous runner. 3rd pick: #8 (Great Emperor) - Stretches-out off his best "figure" race ever, a close-up 2nd place finish sprinting June 14th. He's been pretty solid for some time and even thoug this is a big step up, in his present shape he can compete with these. 4th pick: #4 (Seal Team) - Lightly raced and he has some ability. Goes 3rd of 7 week break and his return pair were both out of town stakes. Should offer his best today. BELMONT PARK Race #6 at 3:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #3 (GO GO BAR) - Likes the turf sprinting game and also likes this course. Stalker just failed to get up on June 34d at this level and distance and race was her 1st in 5 months. Barn (J.P.Terranova brings her back quickly and she's the horse to beat. 2nd pick: #1 (Sweet Bama Breeze) - Speedy filly tired slightly at this level and distance June 3rd in her first back off 65 day breather. She's the main speed and should be able to establish the hedge going into the turn. The horse to catch. Races as part of entry with "Kitty Nip". 3rd pick: #7 (I'm The Queen of Queens) - Well-bred and lightly raced. Daughter of "More Than Ready" stalked, rated nicely, and swept to her maiden win going 7 furlongs May 24th. Cuts-back a furlong but that shouldn't matter. Contender as she faces winners for the first time. 4th pick: #6 (Private Battle) - September returnee makes her first start ever facing fellow state-bred competition. Speed/stalker is now with Bruce Levine and can compete with these. Trainer wins with 36% of his new arrivals and is one of the best off of long layoffs (31%). MONMOUTH PARK Race #9 at 4:20 PM Eastern Top pick: #9 (COSMIC DANCE) - Filly tired two back sprinting in her first start of the meeting, then went long last out in her 2nd back. Believe she'll be involved from the start from her outside post and can cause a mild "upset". 2nd pick: #3 (Seeking Glory) - She cleared the 1x condition last out in a very game performance and takes the next stept up this afternoon. A repeat of her latest effort puts her in the win mix. 3rd pick: #4 (Silver Kisses) - Hard-hitting mare comes here from Pennsylvania and will be racing against fellow Jersey-breds. Steps up to an alowance but here recent claiming "figures" suggest she'll be fine against this group.
