Horse Racing Tipsters - June 17, 2008We had a nice day at Delaware yesterday hitting three of our four races, for the full results see below. We'll go back to Delaware with four more today and make the switch back to Belmont when they re-open tomorrow. Today's Best Bet is # 4 Great Deduction in Race # 7 at Delaware Park. Monday's Results: Delaware Park Race #3 Best Bet Winner #1 (Tara's Warrior) $5.00. Delaware Park Race #5 Top Pick Winner #3 (Ski Sky) $6.20. Delaware Park Race #8 Exacta second pick with top pick (8-7) $98.20. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 1) PRICE OF FREEDOM - Filly makes her first start since late February when she was racing in poor form at Oaklawn. She is training in fine fashion for her return and coild pull off a "mild" upset in Tuesday's opener. (# 6) Maui Moonrise - Claimed out of a rather sub-par effort going a mile here on May 24 by trainer Paul McClelland. New trainer shortens her up and she finished second two back at Gulfstream at this tag and distance. (# 4) Salino - Filly could quite possibly go off the favorite here. She's finished second in both her races on this dirt, one going long and the other sprinting. Has some speed and brings a good work with her. (# 2) Pam's Good Deed - Daughter of "Alydeed" had trouble in both of her starts in Texas before shipping north. It's clear that she can run a little and Dominguez winds up here. DELAWARE PARK Race #TWO (1:10 PM Eastern) (# 1) SASHA'S GIRL - Veteran mare has some good early speed and draws the rail making her third start of her current form cycle. She's finished evenly in her first pair and just a slight move forward could win this. (# 4) Alyjen's Bomb - Filly returned from an August layoff on April 25 and she's been running evenly in her three return starts. Made a bid in her last at Philly Park before tiring late. She showed renewed interest that day and may be nearing her peak. (# 3) Cold Snap - Probable favorite won a race at Penn National two back and ran wide while holding her position in her latest. Repeat of either puts her in the final mix with this group. DELAWARE PARK Race #FIVE (2:30 PM Eastern) (# 1) VOLCANIC ACTION - Claimed by Mike Gorham in mid-March at Oaklawn. This filly ran well last out when the new connections dropped her into a claimer after they raced her against tougher twice. Stretches out off the recent sprint and draws the rail. Tough to hold off down the lane. (# 4) Spawning Brook - Daughter of "Montbrook" has raced well in her three starts at this meet for the Randy Nunley barn. Has a fine stalking style and she should be a major factor given the make-up of this field. (# 6) Apron Dancer - Filly will try a distance for the second time in her career. She's coming off a series of four sprints since she last went "long" and appears better prepared for today's attempt. DELAWARE PARK Race #SEVEN (3:25 PM Eastern) (# 4) GREAT DEDUCTION - Showed good speed in his latest when in for $20,000. Race was his first in six months and he may have needed the effort. Goes second off the bench and drops down to $10K for this. Can win this on the front end. (# 6) Alpha Bear - Shortens up off a troubled trip going long against $40,000 foes on May 17. Runner has no published works since then, but attracts Dominguez. Trainer drops her down to $10K and she's a major contender. (# 8) R Town Leader - Mid-pack type has run competitively at times and may pick off enough late to land in the tri and super. (# 12) Spotlight Scam - Filly was shipped here at the end of the Gulfstream meet after three so-so efforts sprinting in and around this tag. New trainer Ruben Monjes immediately removes the blinkers in an attempt to make him more competitive. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
