Horse Racing Tipsters - June 10, 2008We'll have a retrospective look on last Saturday's Belmont and discuss the future of "Big Brown" in this weekend's racing newsletter. By the way, Belmont Park will begin it's annual Friday twilight cards this week with post time scheduled for 3:00 pm (EST), the only exception will be the July 4, which is on a Friday this year. Post Time that day will be the normal 1:00 pm (EST). The twilight cards will continue right up to the start of the Saratoga meet which begins on Wednesday, July 23. Today we have another four races from Delaware Park. Today's Best Bet is # 5 Gambler's Prize in Race #2 at Delaware Park. For those of you who dabble in the pick-6, Belmont's carry-over for tomorrow is just over $1,000,000 with the pool expected to grow to almost $3 million. Monday's Results: Delaware Park Race #2 Exacta second pick with top pick (3-5) $9.80.Trifecta (3-5-1) $17.80. Delaware Park Race #6 Top Pick Winner #3 (Hurrah) $5.80. Delaware Park Race #8 Exacta (1-3) $17.80. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 5) GAMBLER'S PRIZE - Lost his last in a heart breaker. Had the lead all the way around at this track and distance and was caught right on the wire. Race was his first in seven weeks and first off a Scott Lake claim. Repeat gets the job done. One of a pair entered by the perennial leading trainer here. (# 1) Anxious - This is the other Scott Lake runner. Strong second place finish in latest at Pimlico, his first start in eight weeks. Runner is a re-claim by the trainer, always a good angle. Has the rail and plenty of speed. (# 3) Tyros Beach - Solid at shorter distances, he was sent a mile last out probably for conditioning purposes. Gelding hadn't started in over two months heading into that attempt. Cuts-back in distance and is in a "crafty" barn (Pete Bazeos). DELAWARE PARK Race #THREE (1:35 PM Eastern) (# 3) SEE MORGAN FIRST - Set all the pace at this distance, track, and surface last out. Stayed on when challenged, fought gamely and was beaten on the wire. Veteran has a good record here (2-1-1-0) and has been first or second in 9 of 13 on the grass. The horse to beat. (# 2) Bojangles - Finished third in his latest, almost three lengths behind the top pick. Solid turf performer always runs well at this tag and should do so again today. (# 6) Tam's Terms - Eleven-time winner on the turf is getting on in years (10) and doesn't run more than three or four times a year. He is training forwardly for the fine turf barn of Lawrence Murray. Veteran has run well off of longer layoffs than this (7-months). Major factor from start to finish. DELAWARE PARK Race #SIX (3:00 PM Eastern) (# 7) TRUE EXCHANGE - Ships in from Pimlico with the end of their meet for trainer Bob Bailes. Gelded son of "Exchange Rate" ran second in both of his starts showing fine speed each time. Looks to be on edge and should run well. (# 8) Knox County - First-time starter from the barn of Steve Klesaris. Colt was an expensive yearling ($210,000) and has been training well at Fair Hill. Strong trainer/rider combination, clicks at 35%. (# 6) Camilla's Catch - May give the choice a tussle for the top as he has consitently run his half-mile in under :46. Blinkers were added to his equipment four starts back and it has improved his ability quite a bit. Needs to finish a little stronger. (# 10) Gracia's Mike - Runs for Mark Shuman for the first time after starting his career in Florida. Showed speed in his debut when "tagged", then had a stumbling start in next. Son of "Lido Palace" hasn't raced since April 3. Dominguez's is aloft. (# 11) Tools For the Job - Barclay Tagg runner was highly thought of at one time with starts at the premier meets of Saratoga, Gulfstream, and Belmont. Continues to show speed and tires late. Move to an outside post should make for a better run. DELAWARE PARK Race #SEVEN (3:25 PM Eastern) (# 3) SALLE DE BAIN - Nicely-bred filly started her career with "Hall of Famer" Bill Mott. She's shown some hints of ability and was claimed in January by Mike Pino for $40,000. Her turf races are showing improvement and she fits this group well on class and style. (# 5) Regras Tres - Finished second last out at this track, tag, surface and distance. On the improve and she's returned from a fall freshening a better overall runner. Dominguez is aboard for the re-ride. (# 7) Super Heroine - Lightly-raced daughter of "Petionville" recently shipped here from Sunland Park in New Mexico. Has talent on the dirt and will try to transfer it to the turf-course. Don't sell too short. (# 9) Dutiful - Mare broke her maiden three starts back at Gulfstream at age five, in start number 13. Her first pair against winners have been poor. Likes to rally late, so a fast/contested pace would aid her cause. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
