Horse Racing Betting Systems - July 25, 2008A reminder that both Saratoga and Del Mar will run twilight cards today. Respective Post Times are 2:45 and 7:00 pm (EST). Del Mar will continue this process straight through their meet while Saratoga will only conduct one more on the last Friday in their session. The forecast is for sunny weather in Saratoga Springs this weekend, and with a slew of important stakes slated, they should all be run under optimum conditions. Friday's card at the Spa. had four turf races listed, but the only one to remain on the infield was the featured event. Today we have a pair each from Saratoga and Del Mar. Today's Best Bet is # 4 Grimaldi in Race # 4 at Saratoga. Thursday's Results: Monmouth Park Race #1 Exacta (5-1) $34.40.T-fecta (5-1-6) $62.60. Saratoga Race #3 Ex. (7-5) $83.00. Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 4) GRIMALDI - Claimed out of his debut race at Churchill by Richard Dutrow from Steve Asmussen for $50,000. Freshened up for the past six weeks, this son of "Zavata" has been training well for his second start. Good speed shown in his first race and would expect him to make use of it again today. (# 6) Vinnies Wild Tale - Inexpensive ($7000) son of "West Acre" has been in steady training, first at Philadelphia Park and more recently at Belmont. Desormeaux and Lasix are both in use for this debut effort. (# 1) Beer Pong - Colt debuts for trainer Tim Ritvo and has a very fast gate work on the Belmont training track July 12. Part of an entry with "Doctor Garrett" and they have separate jockeys listed, so both may go. (# 2) Shoe Strap - Marylou Whitney home-bred showed speed last out at Churchill and will drop into a claimer for the first time. Trainer Wayne Lukas adds blinkers to this gelding's equipment for this attempt. SARATOGA Race #SIX (5:30 PM Eastern) (# 4) VISIBLE TRUTH - Speedy son of "Silver Deputy" has been progressing nicely for trainer Steve Asmussen. Lightly-raced, four-year-old likes sprinting and and has been training here for the past two weeks. Colt comes off a narrow loss in an allowance at Churchill going seven-furlongs and race was his best ever from a "figure" stand-point. Tough from just off the pace. (# 1) Real Estate - Lightly raced son of "High Yield" still has unlimited potential at this stage of his career. Smashing win last out at Belmont on May 11 travelling 8.5-furlongs. Freshened up since, he is training in superb style for his return and trainer Bruce Levine adds lasix today. Very dangerous. (# 8) Perfect Vow - Had a bright future at one time, but he has never fulfilled his early potential. He has a wide draw and is shortening up. Will be far-back early, but will offer a strong late run. He would love a pace collapse. (# 5) Hometown Boy - Stalker is in good form at present and is coming off one of his best ever, a second place finish at Belmont on July 12. Improving sort would appreciate a fast/contested pace. DEL MAR Race #ONE (7:00 PM Eastern) (# 5) LUNCH TIME - Latest indicates that he's getting the hang of this game. Strong second place finish going seven-furlongs at Hollywood has been followed-up with a fast six-furlong drill on this surface. Blinkers on today completes the winning equation. (# 4) Here Comes Buster - Irish-bred and English-raced import, ran well on July 10 in his first race in 13 months. Chased a solid pace at Hollywood for this price and stayed on well to finish fourth. Nice drill on this surface since indicates he's doing well. Big threat with any move forward. (# 1) Warren's Moonkross - Improving three-year-old draws the rail for his first attempt at two-turns. Stalker should receive a good ground-saving journey and make a late impact. (# 2) Black Tux - Just missed in his last for this tag on the Golden Gate turf. Race was only his second after 14 months of inactivity and he'll move back to poly today. DEL MAR Race #TWO (7:30 PM Eastern) (# 7) CARRIE WITH a C - Claimed last out by Jerry Hollendorfer and he's always been strong with his fresh buys. Over the past 18 months he's winning back with 31% of his recent claims. Veteran mare has nine lifetime wins with eight at this distance. (# 6) Flower Fusion - Filly returned sharp at Hollywood after being on the sidelines since last November. Stalker has a second and a win since coming back, and is only one of two entered that has won here before. (# 3) Rebel Creek - Tired in her latest against much tougher in her first race since late August of 2007. Drops for this and she had been training sharply before her return run, which she no-doubt needed. Must try and stay in contact early to have a shot. (# 4) Newport Topper - Claimed last out by Jeff Mullins after she was dropped to $25,000 for the first time. Pressed the pace and tired late in that one. New trainer still maintains his touch with his fresh purchases, winning at 29%. Horse Racing Picks Resources:
