Horse Racing Tip Sheet - July 07, 2008As is usual on Monday the major racing centers are dark, so we'll mix it up a bit again. We have four races to dissect, two from Delaware Park and one each from Philadelphia and Thistledown. Today's Best Bet is # 7 Reprisal in Race # 7 at Thistledown. Sunday's Results: Belmont Park Race #2 Top Pick #4 (Dixieland Star) $3.40. Belmont Park Race #6 Top Pick #8 (True Rebel) $4.10. Philadelphia Park Race #6 Best Bet #2 (Bruckers Brother) $2.80. Belmont Park Race #7 Exacta (5-3) $18.60. ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: (# 2B) MOE THE TIGER - Made his racing debut running for this price tag and ran a fine third. Stayed close to a fast pace and rallied through the lane to make up some ground. Logical move forward could have him winning this. (# 1a) Prideofcory - Ran poorly last out in what was already his fourth trip to the post. He raced competitively in his first three so maybe the last can be ignored. Trainer (Tim Salzman) is doing his usual good work with his youngsters. (# 6) Gulch Point - Blinkers are added to this son of "Scrimshaw" by trainer Jim Hogue today. Has shown a hint of speed in his first pair and hasn't given up much ground late. Could impact this at a square price. PHILADELPHIA PARK Race #EIGHT (3:20 PM Eastern) (# 1) AIM TO VICTORY - Received a rather poor ride last out as he lost position around the turn and had to make a sweeping move while very wide. Still had a spot to win from, but flattened out late. Draws the rail here in a similar field and can take this from close-up. (# 3) Ordonez - Speedy gelding has improved in all three of his stsrts. Claimed out of his debut by Ramon Preciado from John Servis, he is capable of running a sub :45 half. The horse to catch and beat. (# 5) Skypa - Cuts-back in distance and goes turf-to-dirt for New York regular Gary Sciacca. Colt has some ability and can kick in late. He'd like the pace to be fast/contested. THISTLEDOWN Race #SEVEN (4:10 PM Eastern) (# 7) REPRISAL - Gelding ships in from Presque Isle where he ran his two best races ever. Gelded son of "Giant's Causeway" cost $160,000 as a yearling, so there were expectations at one time. Enters this on an upward curve and could cause a bit of a "mild" upset. (# 5) Shouldntbdointhis - Gelded son of "Albert the Great" raced mid-pack and made up some ground last out in his first race since last October. Finished a strong second here on September 30, and if he can move forward off his return, he could win this. (# 4) Saintly Cinderella - Veteran maiden chased a fast pace in his latest and held well late to finish second. That was his best ever and came in his second start on this circuit. Repeat makes him tough. DELAWARE PARK Race #SIX (4:10 PM Eastern) (# 3) ELITE WILDCAT - Broke his maiden two back in his first start on the turf and then had trouble in his first against winners at Monmouth. Drops into a claimer and returns to Delaware. Dominguez, who was aboard in his win, is back aloft. (# 9) Out Kissin - Easy maiden win last out when running for $12,500. Race was easily his best ever and trainer Tony Pecoraro moves him up in and price and sends him to the turf. (# 6) Disengagement - Lasix is added to runner who had displayed good speed in his starts. Drops into a claimer and tries the grass for the first time. (# 10) Dazzle Them Joe - Runner had good position in his last, but was fanned very wide just as they hit the far turn, losing all chance. Could esaily impact this with a clear trip, and at a nice price. ![]() Horse Racing Picks Resources:
