Today's Horse Racing Picks:

MONMOUTH PARK Race #4 at 2:20 PM Eastern

Top pick: #12 (COLONIAL LEGACY) - Son of "Defrere" chased a fast pace in his June 6th debut and only tired in the last 1/16th. Runner was stuck in the two hole that day and should have a better trip from this outside slot. Looks set up well by an under-rated barn (Dennis Manning). The top selection.
2nd pick: #2 (Eidolon) - Stalked, swung out, and rallied for the place in the slop here on June 21st. Race was his best to date and a repeat of it would make him a threat. Marquez abandons for the top pick.
3rd pick: #9 (Irish Eddie K) - Gelded son of "Louis Quartorze" has finished 2nd or 3rd in five of his eight starts, including his latest on June 6th. Trainer Ben Perkins Jr. has given him the past month off and his drill on June 24th is fine. Stretch threat.
4th pick: #1 (Jilt) - Sophomore colt by "Not For Love" chased and tired in his debut to finish almost 6 lengths shy of "Eidolon". Comes back quickly for this and he has the rail advantage. Expecting him to run well.
5th pick: #7 (Sal's Little Bro) - Working frequently and in some cases fast for his debut. Good barn, and trainer Greg Sacco names Trujillo, so you know they like his chances. My enthusiasm is held in check by trainer's 0 for 29 stat with debuting stock over the past 18 months.

BELMONT PARK Race #4 at 2:35 PM Eastern
Top pick: #3 (COMPLIANCE OFFICER) - The main speed and an obvious win contender. Son of "Officer" has finished 2nd in his last pair at this level, including a fine effort two back at this distance. Trainer Terri Pompay has given him almost 6 weeks since his latest run and colt is working fast. The top pick.
2nd pick: #5 (Vertical Flight) - Gelding chased and tired on May 23rd his first race off almost a 7 month absence. Well back of the top selection in that one, he'll narrow that gap considerably this afternoon for his new trainer (Richard Dutrow) who wins at a 30% rate with his new arrivals.
3rd pick: #2 (Really Something) - He made up some ground in his debut despite racing wide most of the race on a "soft" turf course. Gets some added yardage to work with here and he's wheeled back quickly for this ( 7 days).
4th pick: #7 (Too Amenable) - Son of "Plesantly Perfect" rallied from far back in his debut to finish a close-up 4th. That was 7 weks ago and his trainer (Chris Clement) is very good 2nd time out (22%). Contender in an interesting maiden contest.
Special Race Notes: Selections for the dirt: The same.

BELMONT PARK Race #8 (THE DWYER) at 4:45 PM Eastern
Top pick: #2 (CONVOCATION) - Lightly raced and talented. Son of "Pulpit" couldn't have looked better in breaking his maiden by almost 7 lengths on the Belmont Stakes Day under-card. Moves way up for this, but can stalk and pounce, a strategy that looks right for this contest. Working fine since and his trainer (Jimmy Jerkens) really likes him. The top selection.
2nd pick: #4 (Masala) - Nice win here on June 13th as his new trainer "Hall of Famer" H. Allen Jerkens, switched him back to the dirt after a pair on turf and "Poly". Colt always had some talent and seems to be reaching a new level.
3rd pick: #6 (Just Ben) - Gets a big class test this afternoon afer "smashing" a field of "Optional-$75K foes by almost 14 lengths. Race was by far his best ever and his trainer (Nick Zito) has wisely rested him for the past month. Takes them as far as he can.
4th pick: #5 (American Dance) - Another coming off a career best, an easy win here in a 2l allowance on May 21st going 9 furlongs. Beautifully-bred and is just now reaching his potential. Player

MONMOUTH PARK Race #10 (THE UNITED NATIONS (G1)) at 5:20 PM Eastern
Top pick: #5 (COURT VISION) - One run type should absolutely relish this 11 furlong distance as he tries it for the first time. He's winless since taking the Hollywood Derby(G1) on November 30th, but has run well in all four starts, and all came against Grade one competition. Pace should be fast and possibly contested. The pick in a nice edition of this traditional feature.
2nd pick: #1 (Banrock) - Came from far back in the Monmouth stakes on June 19th to just miss ( a "nose"). Pace was extremely fast that day and this runner has better tactical speed to utilize than he showed in that contest. Win contender from the hedge.
3rd pick: #7 (Precious Passion) - Pretty amazing perfromance last out as he set a very fast pace, appeared about to be "swallowed-up" in mid-stretch, yet still hung on for the win. He won this race last year and is set up well for another big effort.
4th pick: #4 (Spice Route) - English import has acquitted himself well on these shores, and like the top pick, he brings a strong closing kick. More than capable if the pace is strong, but the top choice has consistently put up better numbers. Exotics factor.

BELMONT PARK Race #10 (THE SUBURBAN HDCP(G1)) at 5:45 PM Eastern
Top pick: #4 (ASIATIC BOY) - Quality import finished a strong 2nd in the recent Stephen Foster Hdcp (G1) at Churchill Downs and did so despite some trouble. Race was his first in this country and first with lasix. He had worked sharply on this surface before that race and has done so since. The top pick in a contentious running of the "Suburban"(G1).
2nd pick: #3 (It's A Bird) - He's really developed into a top animal over the past 1/2 year under the guidance of one of the most under-rated barns in the business (Marty Wolfson). Speed/stalker has won in the past six months at Calder, Gulfstream, Oaklawn, and Lone Star. No reason to believed he won't do so here.
3rd pick: #9 (Ready's Echo) - He lost all chance at the start of the "Met" mile when he was "sawed" off at the start and had to drop back to last. Son of "More Than Ready" put in a big middle run but flattened out late. Working fine since and lightly raced runner looks primed for his best.
4th pick: #8 (Cool Coal Man) - Speedy runner can rate a bit on occasions and comes into this off a sharp wire-to-wire win here May 30th. Working fast since and he must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #7 (Real Merchant) - Longshot who likes to race about mid-pack shoul receive a lively pace to rally into and son of "Merchant of Venice" has some quality to him. Could hit the tri and or super at nice odds.
