BetPhoenix 100% Deposit Match! ![]() Today's Horse Racing Picks: Top pick: #1 (MORE TO THE STORY) - Daughter of "More Than Ready" cost $625,000 at auction and has shown good speed in her first pair, one each here on the grass and the other on the Keeneland poly. Freshened-up by trainer Kiaran McLaughlin for the past six weeks she's training fast for her return at the Greentree training center at Saratoga. The top pick. 2nd pick: #7 (Out Post) - Daughter of "Silver Deputy" returns today off a February 22 layoff at Gulfstream Park. Filly showed good speed on the dirt there in a pair of starts and will move to the grass this afternoon for the first time. Barn (Alan Goldberg) is good off the layoff (19%) and a bit better on the distance switch (22%). 3rd pick: #6 (Warm Springs Girl) - She was claimed on May 28 by Del Carrol from George Weaver for $35,000. Filly finished second that day in her first back off a eight-month layoff and raced evenly last out in a maiden special in her first for the new barn. Blinkers go on today and she should rebound in her third off the long rest. 4th pick: #2 (Chick In Slacks) - Filly won her latest racing for $35,000 but was disqualified from the top spot for an incident in mid-stretch. Moves up to a maiden special and is a stretch threat. BELMONT PARK Race #3 at 2:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (RAMBLINGAMBLINMAN) - Stalker goes second off a seven-week layoff and son of "Drewman" finished an even third in his return race at Monmouth May 25. Colt was off a "beat" slow in that one, but has trained sharply since. Barn (Richard Dutrow) is great (30%) second back and colt should receive a fast pace to stalk. The top selection. 2nd pick: #1 (SCOTCHONTHEROCKS) - Speed/stalker draws the rail and moves back into a claimer for the first time since late March. He tired last out at Delaware at the 2x condition facing a tough crew and that broke a three race winning streak. Looks tough from the inside. 3rd pick: #3 (Mr. Again) - Drops, shortens-up, and goes turf to dirt for the Seth Benzel barn. Gelding has a very sharp work on June 22 up at Saratoga and may offer a nice price in this seven horse field. 4th pick: #2 (MISSIPIPPI MAN) - Speedy sophomore caught a sloppy track here on June 11 and went wire-to-wire. Dangerous runner when he clears, but he should have an early battle with the rail runner for that spot. Capable, but may be over-bet a bit CHURCHILL DOWNS Race #4 at 7:20 PM Eastern Top pick: #6 (INSIDER) - Working fast for his first start since last September and his first start for trainer Al Stall. Son of "Out of Place" showed some talent last year at two and his works indicate he's ready. Can "upset" the force. 2nd pick: #8 (Atomic Force) - He's run well in his last pair and he'll drop into a claimer for the first time. In a winning barn (Neil Howard), he has two very sharp works heading into this. Contender for all the money positions. 3rd pick: #3 (Flat Water) - Stalker will move back to the grass after a pair of good efforts at this level on thth dirt. Son of "Stephen Got Even" raced well in a pair if turf starts at Gulfstream earlier this year. Albarado abandons for "Atomic Force". Exotics factor. 4th pick: #7 (Cape Doctor) - Son the legendary "Dynaformer" Has been well-bet in his first pair but did not run much in either. Freshened-up for the past seven weeks, he drops into a claimer for the first time and that should help him be competitive. CHURCHILL DOWNS Race #6 at 8:15 PM Eastern Top pick: #8 (LA MILANESA) - French import was sharpened in a dirt sprint here June 6, her first race since late December. Moves to the turf and stretches-out in distance for a good barn (Dave Carroll). Can upset the #7 filly. 2nd pick: #7 (Crusin'nthebridle) - Daughter of "Unbridled's Song" made up a lot of ground in her debut to finish fourth of 12. Filly has come back to work well since for her trainer (Mike Maker). Maker is sharp second out (24%) and he names his main go-to rider today (Jason Leparoux). 3rd pick: #2 (Queen of Empire) - Daughter of "Empire Maker" made a good bid in her debut and leveled off late. Filly has a nice work on June 23 for a trainer (George Weaver) who does well second time out (18%). 4th pick: #6 (Champagne Jane) - Nice effort last out in her second back off a 2 1/2 month rest and her first on the grass. She rated, bid, and rallied for the place. Barn (Ron Pelligrini) takes an apprentice rider off and names Jesus Castanon, meaning they like her chances.
