Filly has finished 2nd in two of her last three starts at this level, including a fine effort last out on this course. She's worked nicely since that race and is the top choice. 2nd pick: #7 (Minishaft) - Daughter of "Mineshaft" just failed to last on May 17th going 7 furlongs on this infield. She stalked, bid, reached the front and tired to finish 2nd. Race was the best last out of any and a repeat figure would make her tough in here. 3rd pick: #6 (Miss Catalyst) - She pressed the pace while wide going 7 furlongs on May 17th and "hung" a bit late. Working fine since and this mile distance is more to her liking. She'll sneak away at nice odds. 4th pick: #2 (Siren Serenade) - Beautifully-bred filly has some talent and she's been brought along slowly by the patient "Shug" Mcgaughey. Much improved races this spring on the Keeneland "Poly" this past April and she's been on the sidelines since. Working fast and looks ready for her best. Special Race Notes: Selections for the dirt: #9-Platinum #2-Siren Serenade #6-Miss Catalyst DELAWARE PARK Race #5 at 3:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #4 (CALLED AN AUDIBLE) - Nicely-bred filly and she's been very lightly raced (5-1-0-0). She broke her maiden at Charles Town on February 22nd and then went in for a 6 week freshening. Her return pair have also come in West Virginia in allowances and she ran evenly in her latest. Drops way down for this and also makes her first start for Scott Lake ( a 24% winning angle). She'll prove tough to beat. 2nd pick: #1 (Dreaming of Sasha) - Daughter of the "Alydar" stallion "Wheaton" improved last out in her 3rd start of the year. Dropped to this price for the first time she finished a close-up 3rd. Exacta player. 3rd pick: #6 (Ethics) - This is already her 5th start at this meet and she's managed a pair of 2nd place finishes in the other four. Likes to race mid-pack and make one run. Contender in this poor group. BELMONT PARK Race #6 at 3:30 PM Eastern Top pick: #8 (COACH FRUSCIO) - Drops in half after an even race on June 3rd facing $50,000 foes. Race was his first in two months and was in a strong group for the level. Goes 2nd off the rest and trainer Bruce Levine adds blinkers, both very strong moves by him. Looks set for his best. 2nd pick: #9 (Portable Alpha) - "Distanced" in a turf sprint on May 2nd, expensive ($397,000) son of "Hook and Ladder" is offered up for $25,000 this afternoon. Has shown good speed in his pair of dirt races and he's working fast for this. Win threat. 3rd pick: #4 (Four Star General) - Logical selection and obvious contender. Drops out of a "special weight" and he finished a strong 2nd May 21st at this price-tag. Tough opponent. 4th pick: #6 (Soonasigetpaid) - He's been improving a bit and is in a barn (Mike Maker) that will find him a winning spot more sooner than later. Speed/stalker chased a good-looking winner last out who repeated at Monmouth in his next start . Gelding is a nice use in the same race exotics. BELMONT PARK Race #9 at 5:00 PM Eastern Top pick: #5 (LOVE OF LIFE) - Drops by more than half, and colt showed good debut speed against tougher on June 22nd. His trainer (John Parisella) brings him back quickly and Dominguez takes the re-ride. The top choice. 2nd pick: #4 (Purrfect Alibi) - Another dropping from $35,000 to $16K and this son of "Unbridled's Song" also is going from turf to dirt. May do well at a square price. 3rd pick: #12 (Big Stack) - Well-bet in his debut in an "off the turf" contest, he held good position but backed up when asked for some run. Takes a huge drop today $65,000 down to $16K and his trainer (Richard Dutrow) also adds lasix for this. Trainer wins at a 31% 2nd time out and at an astounding 53% on the lasix angle. Would have liked him a lot more if he didn't have the 12 post. Win contender nontheless. 4th pick: #8 (Timber Cruise) - Another big dropper and this well-bred runner also will race for a new trainer (Dave Jacobson) after a private sale. Should be competitive in this spot.
